Gasps escaped from the lips of the audience following each buzz sound. But most especially, it was a frenzy for the reporters. Especially those from the BCB news trying to single out star students from the crowd and show the world the next big talent.
Each news channel had access to a glow orb that enabled them to see what was happening to each student around a certain area.
But the ones given to the elite slayers were different. Designed with a little bit of power from Elena to enable them view each student at the same time.
Most like Austin and the rest of the reporters has their eyes on one person, Ryker ....as he was about to collect the 25th tag off a wind code user. Though Ryker lacked in speed, his control and experience was making him the sheer dominant.
But Kai's eyes were fixed on someone. Most especially now that he had just begun a fight with a fire code user.

Sage took deep breaths steadying himself but his thoughts were in different places.
Round one only lasted 30 minutes. Checking his watch he knew he only had 10 more minutes.
"This fog is blocking my vision but it seems to be doing alot more to Berg", Sage admitted in his head.
"Show yourself CURSED BOY !!!, Berg shouted throwing fists of flames. The flames tore through the fog hitting nothing as Sage was already on the move. All he had to do was...
Something moved 5m away from Berg. Berg steadied his Katana and sliced through the air. Fire spread out from his blades like a wave temporary disrupting the fog leaving a loud hum.
"Got you", Berg said moving closer to the destruction.
"No..., got you", Sage said holding a dagger to Berg's neck.
Holding him down,Sage placed his hands on Berg's tag and a loud buzz sound followed soon after .
"Round one is over", a familiar voice boomed across the entire forest and soon the nights sky began to fade out and the students could now see the clear sky once more.
"Thank God", Sage sighed internally.
Taking their places in the line, many students moved around congratulating each other exchanging hugs and checking each others tags.
They were those like Ryker who paraded their stolen tags on to the detriment of many who wore sour looks on their faces.
Sage could recognise a certain blonded hair girl. She was the green code user on the side walk. Apparently Ryker had taken hers too.
"E- hem, Arturo said, bringing everyones attention back.
"At the end of Round one, out of 150, 60 have passed to round two.
"What!!!!, Eyle a brunette haired students exclaimed. Gasps filled the place
"Less than half?, another said.
"But we are more than that that still have our tags", Mira said raising her hand.
"That's true", Kai said taking the stage.
"But remember what I said, this year's going to be different. This year's exam is all about risk taking, skill.., so on that note only those with extra points have made it to round 2".
Sighs exclaimed from the lips of many of the students. Some shed tears will some leaped for joy.
"I'll show him risk taking", a black haired student said jumping off the crowd running towards Kai. The code on his wrist shun faintly and water erupted from his palm moving towards Kai.
"He's so going to regret this", Elena hissed waiting for the spectacle to unfold.
Waves of water left Ron's hand at a fast speed for all those watching. The reporters zoomed in not wanting to miss in on the action.
But for Kai it felt like the wave was taking ages. Stepping slowly to the side, Kai was dodging all the waves. To others it looked more like Kai could predict were the wave was coming from.
Disappearing from site, Kai appeared behind Ron holding his wrists with one hand.
"So cool", most students uttered eyes sparkling.
"If that's all taken care of", Elena said taking over.
"We shall announce the results of those who passed".
"Starting with the lowest scorer, we have Sage Erlanger, with a total of one point", Elena continued.
The crowd was filled with mixed reactions. Most were shocked that Sage had managed to pass. Sage could see Berg ducking slightly away from view.
While others scorned that he was still last place.
But Sage didn't really care.
"Glad to see you made it", a familiar voice said to Sage.
Turning round, Sage could see it was Kol.
"Yeah, me too", Sage said looking at Kol. Kols blonde hair shun and moved slightly with the wind bringing out his sharp jaw line. He could already see some girls oogling in their direction.
Not wanting more hate, he took a step away from Kol. Attention was something he didn't need now and Kol was definitely attention.
"And now for second place with a total of 25 points,Kol Carlyle", Elena's voice beamed once more. Shocked gasps escaped many lips and the camera zoomed in on him.
There was an essence around Kol and Sage could feel he was more than meets the eye.
Upon the announcement of Ryker becoming first place as expected with 26 points, Sage moved closer to Kol.
"You could have beaten Ryker, Why didn't you?, Sage said fixing his gaze on him.
Kol stared at Sage for some seconds then let out a warm smile.
" I knew there was more to you", he said grinning ear to ear.
