Shao Xue Cong knocked on Lin Xuan Qi's door and while she was waiting, she looked at the surroundings.
It was in a poor neighborhood with many unsavory characters living in it.
There were piles of trash and belongings strewn all over the corridor.
Better to get Lin Xuan Qi to come with her as fast as possible and then go and get Zhang Xi, she thought.
Every minute spent here made her uneasy.
She didn't know how Lin Xuan Qi could tolerate living in such a slum.
The answer was very simple.
You need to be poor enough.
The rental around this area was the cheapest anyone could find.
"Who's that?" Lin Xuan Qi asked behind the door.
"It's me from the Awakened Investigation Team. We need you to come with me to elaborate on some of the details."
When the door opened, Shao Xue Cong was surprised at the interior when she looked over the shoulders of Lin Xuan Qi.
Everything was neat and tidy, there was nothing lying around and being out of place.
A huge contrast to the surroundings that were outside Lin Xuan Qi's place.
"What is this all about? I've given whatever details that I know." Lin Xuan Qi frowned when he saw that it was Shao Xue Cong.
Could they have suspected something? Lin Xuan Qi thought to himself.
"Oh... It's just a precautionary check as people in shock might forget some details. That's why." She cooked up an excuse and quickly said, "Expenses today will be paid for your troubles, $100."
Remembering the reason why Lin Xuan Qi got on all those variety shows, she offered Lin Xuan Qi money to entice him.
Lin Xuan Qi sighed and nodded his head.
Better to take the offer now before she throws some books with obscure regulations at him.
"Come in and wait while I get ready." He showed Shao Xue Cong the way and she entered his place.
She sat on the sofa while Lin Xuan Qi got ready.
Looking around, she saw the bookshelf of books that were about computers which she figured was what Lin Xuan Qi majored in university.
And in the same bookshelf there were books about cancer and how to survive with it.
Post-it notes jutted out from the pages of these books.
Lin Xuan Qi must have tried very hard to learn and fight in every way he could.
Next to the bookshelf was a photo of Lin Xuan Qi with two adults.
Presumably his parents.
In the photo he was smiling with a carefree look.
Nothing like what he was now.
Shao Xue Cong started to have a better view of Lin Xuan Qi.
Understanding why he was so shameless and out to try and make more money.
"All right, we can go now. So, where shall we go to next?" Lin Xuan Qi changed into a set of new clothes and put his phone into his jeans pocket.
"We will go to the Star Media Building next." Shao Xue Cong said with anticipation.
Zhang Xi's talent agency was there.
And Shao Xue Cong began to dream of how she would be signed as a talent by the talent agency's boss.
She couldn't help but smile to herself.
Being a star with all the spotlight on her was her dream since young.
"Are you ok?" Lin Xuan Qi asked when he noticed Shao Xue Cong's expression not changing after a minute passed.

Zhang Xi was in a meeting room with the agency's boss, Robert Lee.
A bald middle-aged man with tattoos all over his body.
His cigar burnt brightly with embers glowing as he took a deep breath.
"I will get you a new agent as soon as possible. Don't worry, the nightmares will go away soon. Let me know if you need to take a short break."
Contrary to his appearance, Robert Lee was caring and gentle to his artists.
Zhang Xi nodded as she had nightmares about what had happened to her agent.
And occasionally, dreams about Lin Xuan Qi.
The dreams were wild with Lin Xuan Qi, and she always had to wake up and take a drink to calm herself down.
Sometimes it got so bad that she had to roll to and fro on the bed before she was able to sleep again.
Her mind drifted away as she thought about where Lin Xuan Qi was now.
"Zhang Xi... Zhang Xi?" Robert Lee stood up and waved his hands before her eyes.
"Huh... sorry boss." She snapped out of her daydream and apologized to the boss.
The door to the meeting room opened and the secretary led Lin Xuan Qi and Shao Xue Cong into the room.
Robert Lee turned over and looked at Shao Xue Cong and Lin Xuan Qi.
He habitually scanned at them to see if they could be artists.
His eyes opened wide at what he saw.
This must have been his lucky day.
Two potential artists in one day, and they've come voluntarily.
"Good... good..." He murmured to himself as he circled Shao Xue Cong and Lin Xuan Qi.
The more he looked he confirmed his view.
Lin Xuan Qi, although not looking bright and vibrant, was handsome and had an aura which he couldn't put his finger on.
Girls would be swooning over him, wanting to protect him.
As for Shao Xue Cong, she looked like the girl next door who was daring enough to go on adventures with you.
He nodded to himself as he thought about all the different engagements he could get with Lin Xuan Qi and Shao Xue Cong.
"We are here to see Zhang Xi." Shao Xue Cong frowned as she didn't know why Robert Lee looked at her in such a manner.
Slap.
Robert Lee slapped his bald head when he saw Shao Xue Cong's response.
"I'm Robert Lee, the boss of Star Media. I apologize as I got too excited to see both of you."
He apologized and introduced himself.
"Robert Lee? Boss of Star Media?" Shao Xue Cong mumbled to herself.
She could already see her talent contract in her grasp.
