After Wang declared he would avenge Weng, Ming stepped forward.
> "Father, please be cautious. The king seems to be plotting the downfall of our Myung family."
Wang clenched his fists, his voice thunderous with fury.
> "I don't care. I'm going to break that cursed king's hands myself!"
Mina placed her hand gently on his shoulder.
> "My love, you've always been merciful…"
Then she turned to her son Ming and, with a voice full of regal strength, said:
> "Cut off the king's hand… let him understand who he's dealing with."
Ming let out a chilling laugh that echoed like a demon's cry.
> "Mother, your voice just shook the heavens! That was terrifying!"
Wang nodded with a grim smile.
> "Very well… to the royal palace."
As they walked, Wang's mind raced.
> "So… the king finally realizes the true strength of our clan. Eight years ago, he sent an assassin to test me. My spies told me everything. He thinks he can play games with us? Let's see him tremble now."
When Wang reached the gates of the royal palace, he shouted with a voice so loud it shook the earth:
> "Who dares challenge me?!"
His voice roared like an army charging into war. The king stumbled back in fear.
> "W-Wang! You swore never to kill me or betray the crown!"
Wang's eyes glowed coldly.
> "True. I never swore not to make you suffer."
In a blink, Wang vanished and reappeared behind the king. Before anyone could react, he grabbed the king's arm and severed it in one clean slash.
Gasps filled the hall. The ministers froze in terror.
Yang seized the moment and hurled a hidden dagger. It struck Wang in the shoulder.
One minister stammered:
> "W-Wang… you've caused too much chaos. Under the laws of Wair, injuring the king means exile — for you and your entire family!"
Wang, unfazed, spat:
> "Laws? Hmph. Wolves don't follow the rules of sheep."
Guards shouted in unison:
> "The Myung family is hereby exiled!"
But Wang merely smirked.
> "I don't care. We're leaving."
As they walked out, healers rushed to the king — not Wang — and began tending to his wound.
---
Later, Wang turned to Ming.
> "How's your brother?"
Ming nodded.
> "He's recovered. His strength is returning."
Wang smiled.
> "Good. Gather the family. We're moving to the Sayu Forest."
Ming obeyed immediately. Before leaving, he conjured a black flame in his palm, threw it over the Myung estate, and burned it all to ash.
They walked for six hours before resting near the forest. Wang ordered:
> "Let the children sleep. Men, prepare food."
Ming sat beside Weng.
> "I heard you opened the Shadow Gate?"
Weng nodded.
> "When I saw you in danger, I had no choice."
> "So… what's the power of the shadow?"
> "It allows me to shift forms."
> "Then change your appearance — become an old man."
Weng focused. His body transformed into a feeble elder. When Mina saw him, she asked:
> "Who is this?"
Weng grinned.
> "It's me, Mother. Weng."
She gasped, then laughed.
> "When will you return to normal?"
Ming answered:
> "In twenty-four hours."
Mina embraced them both.
> "My sons… I'm proud of you."
Ming smiled warmly.
> "Mother, I'm heading into the cave to train. I don't want to be disturbed."
She gently kissed his forehead.
> "Be careful, my son."
Ming entered the cave and began to meditate.
> "When the mind is still… even ice becomes glass. Everything becomes clear."
---
Meanwhile, the king's minister arrived with an army.
Wang saw them coming.
> "Prepare yourselves!"
The minister led a brutal charge. Soldiers struck down women and children without mercy.
Wang tried to summon his energy… but nothing came.
The minister laughed cruelly.
> "What's wrong, Wang? We sealed your veins. You're powerless."
Wang roared in defiance, grabbed a sword, and fought back with raw strength. But the enemy swarmed him, and one by one, the warriors of Myung fell.
Wang was the last.
As he collapsed, blood pouring from his wounds, he whispered:
> "Never rely on one power… trust in all your gifts."
He fell silent.
---
Mina's scream echoed as she saw her husband fall. Weng, still disguised as an old man, burned with fury.
But before either of them could act, soldiers fired three arrows into Mina's heart. She crumpled to the ground.
The soldiers didn't recognize Weng due to his disguise. They struck him across the neck and restrained him.
Yang stepped forward.
> "Where's Weng?"
Rong asked:
> "And where's Ming?"
One of the soldiers answered:
> "We'll find them."
Then Yang approached Mina's corpse. With a sick smile, he peeled the skin from her face.
> "Your little sister Myung will be pleased with this prize."
They left.
---
Ten minutes later, Ming emerged from his training.
He froze in horror.
His mother's face had been skinned.
His father lay impaled with swords.
He screamed — a sound not of grief, but of pure madness.
Then he saw his brother still breathing.
His rage turned cold.
His voice dropped to a demonic whisper.
> "They've taken everything…"
> "I will show them a vengeance darker than death."
