Prologue

They weren't supposed to be friends.

They were just five teens flagged by teachers as emotionally concerning—thrown together into a mandatory "wellness group" that was supposed to fix them. Spoiler: it didn't.

At least, not the way the school hoped.

Adrian would rather make jokes than feel things. Faith's life is color-coded and falling apart. Jason's the golden retriever of the group with a smile hiding something much darker. Leo's laughter masks a missing father. And Lucy? She's quiet—until she opens her mouth and verbally destroys everything fake around her.

What starts as a miserable group therapy assignment turns into late-night diner visits, angry poems, emotional meltdowns, and a friendship none of them saw coming.

They call it The Disaster Club.

It's chaotic. It's unfiltered.

It's the first place they've ever felt seen.

But as graduation approaches and real life creeps in, they'll have to figure out if the mess they made together can actually last—or if it was just a beautifully broken phase.

"Turns out disasters can be beautiful too. Especially when they stick together."

The Cast:

1. Adrian (The Narrator) –

Sarcastic, observant, emotionally closed-off. He copes with jokes and avoids vulnerability like it's a contagious disease. Thinks the whole support group thing is a waste of time… until he realizes he kind of needs it too.

2. Faith (The Overachiever) –

Straight-A student. Lives on coffee and anxiety. Smiles too wide, apologizes too much. She starts the story as a perfectionist with a planner and ends up learning that failing sometimes isn't the end of the world.

3. Leo (The Class Clown) –

Always joking, always smiling—but never talks about his dad's recent disappearance or how his home is falling apart. Uses humor as armor. Jay sees through it but doesn't call him out. Not yet.

4. Lucy (The Shy Roaster) –

Quiet in class, writes angry poems in her notebook about people who annoy her. Turns out to be hilariously savage once she opens up. She's dealing with toxic friendships, and Disaster Club becomes her safe space.

5. Jason (The Golden Retriever) –

Friendly, emotional, pure-hearted boy who gives everyone snacks and cries during Pixar trailers. Has an incredibly dark backstory he hides behind sunshine and a "we got this!" attitude. Protects everyone but doesn't know how to ask for help.
