Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Negotiations With Dell, The Acquisition of Mi Huyou

Leo Moore took a closer look at the photo, finally concluding—it was really too similar!

"I'm planning to buy this studio; let's make a phone call first to assess the situation."

Leo took out his mobile phone and dialed the contact information provided by the system.

"Beep…"

The phone was quickly answered, and a mature, indifferent voice from a woman came through.

Leo's pupils shrank; really... even her voice seemed familiar!

"Hello? Who is this?"

Leo quickly gathered his thoughts and, after pondering for a second, got straight to the point: "I heard that your studio needs investment?"

As soon as these words were spoken, Yolanda, who was about to hang up the phone, paused.

She was surprised that someone was willing to invest in her struggling studio.

"Hello, sir. May I ask who you are?"

"My name is Leo Moore, and I am a game enthusiast. Recently, I've had an idea to make a game, but I'm short of manpower."

"I happened to see the information about your studio. I also tried the game 'Save the Girl.' Although the gameplay isn't ideal, I can see that your team is dedicated."

Leo's balanced assessment, neither belittling nor overtly praising their studio, improved Yolanda's impression of him.

She knew very well that the games created by her studio were not meeting expectations.

However, the team had poured their hearts into developing them.

Unfortunately, the results were very poor, and it was nearly impossible to attract investment.

In this situation, the studio might soon have to close, and the game "Save the Girl," which they had tirelessly worked on, would also cease operations.

This was something none of them wanted to see.

Now that someone interested in investing had finally come along, she felt a glimmer of hope.

However, whether to accept the investment still required a face-to-face discussion.

"Sir, if you have the time, we can arrange a meeting to discuss the details."

Naturally, Leo wouldn't refuse: "I'm free now. You can decide on a meeting place, and I'll be there immediately."

"Then, let's meet at the Yuanding Café on Xihuan Road."

...

After hanging up the phone, Leo drove directly to the destination.

He found it a bit strange. The café was clearly near Mi Huyou's studio, so why not invite him directly to the studio?

However, Leo's curiosity didn't lead him to dwell on it further.

The reason he initially mentioned investment rather than acquisition was strategic.

Firstly, the system introduction mentioned nothing about selling the "Mi Huyou" studio, only about investment opportunities.

Therefore, to meet with the other party, Leo decided to approach them under the guise of investment.

Since the system indicated there was a chance for acquisition, Leo naturally intended to explore it.

Furthermore, whether to acquire or not, Leo believed it was better to investigate first.

Although Yolanda was indeed very beautiful, that alone wasn't a reason to make impulsive decisions.

...

Soon, Leo arrived at the charming café.

"The name is quite fitting, 'Established Fate.'"

The café's environment, coupled with soft music, set an elegant and tranquil ambiance.

Leo took out his mobile phone and redialed the number from before: "Miss Yolanda, I've arrived."

"I see you."

Leo turned around and soon spotted a slender, tall, and beautiful woman in professional attire waving at him.

"Even her physique is so similar to Yolanda!" Leo marveled.

Approaching her with gentle steps, Leo smiled: "Hello, let me introduce myself again. My name is Leo Moore."

"Just call me Yolanda."

Yolanda stood up slowly and offered a polite smile.

"Would you like something to drink?"

"Whatever you recommend."

After dismissing the waiter, Leo got straight to the point.

"Miss Yolanda, let's get straight to business."

"Let me ask you a question first: what does your studio have to attract my investment?"

Yolanda opened her mouth, staring at Leo's young and handsome face, unsure of how to respond.

What's this? Don't you have the idea of investing? Why are you putting people on the spot...

"Our studio is a group of people who genuinely love games. If Mr. Moore is looking to make money... then I can't guarantee that the money you invest will be returned."

Hearing this, Leo couldn't help but laugh: "What an honest response..."

"I understand... I reached out because I admire your studio's dedication to games."

"As for making money and pursuing hobbies... I don't think it's possible to have the best of both worlds."

After a pause, Leo's face turned serious: "I have a very good game idea. If executed properly, the return rate could be at least tenfold."

Leo said this with youthful confidence.

After all, Honkai Impact III isn't a buy-out game. As long as the game is updated and new characters are introduced, the game's revenue will continue to grow.

"However, I can't develop the game alone, nor do I want to expend so much energy creating my own studio."

Hearing this, Yolanda frowned slightly: "You mean... you want to invest in our studio to develop this game?"

Leo: "..."

Lady, it's fine to be honest, but why act so innocent...

*Cough* "Miss Yolanda, this joke is a bit much..."

"I'll provide the funding, create the concept, and then hand over the results to your studio... Do you think that's feasible?"

Yolanda realized her naivety, blushing slightly in embarrassment.

"I mean... I want to buy your studio!"

"What?" Yolanda was stunned; the sudden shift in the topic caught her off guard.

"Didn't you say... you wanted to invest?"

Investment was never on Leo's mind; his earlier words were just to facilitate a meeting with the founder of "Mi Huyou."

Leo's face remained composed: "Initially, I did consider investment, but upon reflection, a direct acquisition seems more beneficial."

Yolanda: "..."

She shook her head in disappointment: "I'm sorry, Mr. Moore, I have no intention of selling the studio. Although I am the founder, it was established with the effort of myself and the other employees in the studio."

"Even if I agreed, the rest of the studio would not."

Leo nodded: "I understand, but... could I speak with the rest of the studio? After all, you're aware of your studio's current predicament... I'm afraid it won't attract investments."

"Even if those employees work for free, does your studio still have funds to develop other games?"

"We are also passionate about games; why not work together to create a game that the world will love and pay for?"
