Travis looked at his phone befuddled at seeing the video of his wife and that boy.
In the picture, he gazed at her lovingly as his hands covered her wait ways and she looked up at him with hooded eyes.
Was she cheating on him? Was everything she said a lie? Didn't she love him?
Travis gritted his teeth as he looked at the picture.
But she had told him that she would be with him. She had married him. Why was she now with some other guy locked in an intimate position?
He had to find out what was going on. He had to find out the truth. Why was she looking at him with such passion and why wasn't she pushing him away. His heart clenched as he looked at the picture.
He dialed her number. His heart in his throat as he waited for her to pick up.
"Hello husband." Alice's soft milky voice came up from his phone.
His heart clenched at the name. Was she with some other guy as she made the call? Was she also locked in his fearless embrace?
"Where are you?" He asked angrily.
"I'm in school. I just finished my classes. Why?"
"I need you to come to the company right now. I need to come to the company right this moment."
"Did something happen? Are you-" Alice looked dumbfounded at the phone.
He had hung up on her. What was going on? She remembered how Grant had covered her after her class, baiting her.
"Oh, I see." She said to herself. If this is how they wanted to play the game. She would play just like them.
It all made sense. They planned this out. Alice gave a slow smile because she was always two steps ahead of them.
She walked out of the school ,going straight to the company.
She walked in, greeting the doorman.
She reached the table of the receptionist.
"Hi. Please excuse me. Could you direct me to the office of your CEO?" She asked nicely.
The receptionist looked at her quizzically. "Our CEO? Do you have an appointment?"
Alice flushed. "No but if you could pass a message saying it's Alice-"
"I've heard enough, Alice." She said her name like it was a slur, holding her hand up.
"Heard enough of what?"
"You're one of those self important hags who come into here and act like you know the CEO and act all haughty."
"But I do know the CEO. I'm his wife."
"Oh great. Not only do we have a self important hag but you're also delusional and crazy."
"Hold on, I'll call him instead."
"That's enough. Please leave now before I call security."
Alice looked at her silently as if debating her next move.
"I'll call my husband now. He'll send his personal assistant down to come pick me up."
"Of course he will and I'm Beyonce on the weekends."
"Hello husband. I'm-" Alice's phone was yanked out of her hands.
"I said that's enough." The recepty said hanging up.
"Give me back my phone."
"You're going to leave and you're going to leave now. Since you want to be a nuisance, I'm going to give you the attention you well deserve." She said whilst coming out of her desk to pull Alice.
"Leave me alone." Alice shouted, pulling away.
"No. You're being a nuisance and you must leave at one."
"Unhand the boss's wife immediately." A voice shouted.
The receptionist visibly paled at that. Did he just say the boss's wife?
Alice pulled herself free out of the receptionist's grasp moving away.
"The boss's wife?" She said stuttering.
Daniel, Travis's personal assistant ran breathing hard. He looked like he had ran down a flight of stairs. The guess wasn't far from the truth.
"Mrs Osborne." He bowed.
"The CEO is expectant of you. He's upstairs and awaiting your presence. Sorry about any inconvenience." He said, glaring at the receptionist.
"It's nothing really." She smiled at him.
"And you. Please go to HR department to collect your resignation letter." He said coldly to the receptionist.
"No! I didn't know it was the boss woman. Forgive me please. It was aistale on my part. Please." She said suddenly falling down on the floor.
"They'll be waiting. It isalreafu signed by the CEO and your last salary so already with the letter."
"You can't find me please. I'll be black listed from the industry. Please."
Daniel ignored her pleas as he guided her to the elevator.
"I sincerely apologize for any disturbance she may have caused. I assure you it won't happen again and we'll take any actions necessary against her."
He entered after she entered, pressing the button of the elevator.
"It's fine really. I don't really blame her. She didn't know, a mistake on her part."
"It doesn't give her any right to touch you but I assure she you she would be dealt with." He said as they reached the top floor of the glorious Osborne Corp.
"Sir she's here." Daniel said into the microphone on his neck.
"Bring her in."
Alice walked into the monochrome decorated office noticing it was chilling.
"Husband. I'm here. Aren't you excited to see me?" She said with a smile as she sauntered to his side.
"Where were you?" He asked coldly barely sparing her a glance.
"I was in school. I told you on the phone. I just finished my classes." She said.
He finally looked at her noticing her eyes were as clear as day. She wasn't lying or she was just a very good liar.
"Who did you talk to today? Who did you converse with?"
"Are you okay? Did something happen? Why do you feel so agitated?"
"Did you see that boy today?"
"Who? Grant? Why yes. He cornered me today."
"Cornered you?"
"Yes."
"Then explain this." He said, fling the ph
one across the table showing the picture.
She looked at the phone, sighing before playing out Grant's words from the recorder pen.
