Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

"Dominic! Challenge me!" I stretched out my palm forward like Dominic. Then, although the abundance of magic did not float in the air, a very small magic ball floated in a circle on my hand. It was good. Children, wait! I'll play with my whole body!

'It's not just about getting things delivered, but I can make something really unique!' I was happy to hone my talents.

"Now, we're doing what we can."

"What can I do now?"

"Yes! Let's make beer candy!"

Dominic sighed as if the ground was going to sink. "Reach out."

I quickly stretched out my hand in front of me. "And imagine making a round sphere on top of it."

"Round..." I stretched my hand out in front of me. Then I closed my eyes tightly. What does beer candy look like...?

"Listen. I'll only tell you once." Dominic opened his mouth and began to briefly explain the outline of elementary alchemy.

First, get the basic ingredients needed to make beer candy. The material should not be round. For example, you can't take barley before it is fermented into alcohol and make beer candy.

Second, think of a specific design or outline of a beer candy in your head. He said that since he is an alchemist, he doesn't need to use complicated magic formulas like a wizard.

Third, feel the pure white light in your hand, and shoot mana towards the material.

'Okay, I can do it!'

A few hours later.

I stared ahead. A 300cc glass of freshly poured beer from an oak barrel, sugar and starch syrup. There weren't enough ingredients, so a beginner wizard wouldn't be able to make candy out of it. However, the Alchemist is a self-indulgent who can create something new by adding mana to the materials that are lacking.

I followed Dominic's teachings and tried hard to make beer candies...

"You've run out of mana." Mana is exhausted. "It will take some time for it to fill up again. About a day."

Ten candies were neatly placed in front of me. The bright yellow candies inserted into the sugar cane one by one, and the soft white foamy jelly on top. Seeing the candy that was implemented in the exact same way as I thought, I was full even if I didn't eat it.

But after making ten, my mana disappeared and my body ran out of strength and became mushy. Is this a sense of running out of mana?

"It's hard..." I muttered to myself, exhausted.

"I wonder what it tastes like." At that moment, Dominic casually picked up the candy in front of him. Wagjak, Dominic started to bite and replied with a cheeky smile. "The texture is crunchy."

However, as I quietly listened to Dominic's comments, I was confused for a moment. His voice was strangely high. As if he had drunk helium gas. "...What's wrong with your voice?"

We looked at each other and opened our eyes. "Big, big!" Dominic slapped his throat a few times, coughed a few times, and opened his mouth with a smug face. "Earlier, you were bored during practice, so you flicked candy and cast some magic spell... Oh, my voice is really not cool, is it?"

I burst into laughter at Dominic's buzzing voice. "I, an adult who is more than a few hundred years old, can be caught in a prank that only kids like." His long eyes drooped downward.

I patted him and whispered. "Hurry up and let the magic loose, Dominic."

I was about to grab the candy right away, but I stopped my hand. "Wait, what did you say earlier?"

"Earlier? Am I great?"

...This bastard. "You said it's a joke that kids like, right?" Okay... I mean, kids like this, right? Playful, cute, and childish in a way, but fun to play with.

I met Dominic's gaze and whispered seriously. "You know, why don't you put a simple spell on the candy and sell it?"

"Simple magic?"

"Hmm, it's like life magic where your voice is modulated for about a minute, something as simple as you can do."

Three seconds.

It was a moment when our eyes met. And Dominic and I jumped up and high-fived each other.

"What can we do, we must be geniuses!"

"I admit that."

I grabbed two precious beer candies and continued to speak vigorously. "Then I'll ask Ressa once!"

"I'm sure she'll like it."

I stood up vigorously. Dominic laughed and patted my head as if he were my own brother. "Be careful, whenever you're in a hurry, call my name in your head. We are connected in times of crisis."

That's a wonderful word... Speaking in such a high voice, it's kind of strange. But excited by the new idea, I nodded energetically. "Yes!"

I left our stationery store keeper behind me and walked outside. I needed to get Ressa to confirm and sign a contract!

At that time, Isak, the lord of the Demon Tower, was near Meldenik's stationery store and the academy. He stood under the great wall of the academy with Henry, the little wizard he had brought with him. Nominally, it was to catch a suspected thief, but to be precise, he came because he was curious about Meldenik. The problem is...

"Finally, I'm going to take on an external mission!" He had a young lump. Henry's plump cheeks swelled up and went back in.

Isak asked, rubbing Henry's small forehead. "Were you nervous?"

"No! Rasmus is like that. Just find out if it's a Saramin!"

'I was going to come alone.' Rasmus opposed the decision. He thought Meldenik was a suspected thief, but he was more afraid that Isak would do something to her. If the lord of the tower, who nominally belongs to the imperial palace, kills a high-ranking nobleman directly, the demon tower may suffer a great loss.

"I have no intention of killing him, so such suspicions are a bit unfair." Isak slowly folded his eyes and smiled. "You're excited to be outside the tower."

"Yes, it's thrilling!"

"Well, it's not bad to play with Henry." He stood in the distance, staring at the bright yellow building. Seeing the signboard, it seemed that she was really going to do business.

Rasmus said that Meldenik came to the academy because she wanted to get close to the little ones.

'Please... It's amazing.' Isak patted the little boy's brown curly hair and replied affectionately. "Just say a few words." If you look at her attitude toward a child who is alone, you will get a rough idea of what kind of person she is.

Henry's plump cod lips sticking forward, not knowing Isak's heart. "Yes, it's very easy for me to shed old humans." He was five years old, a genius, and famous as a bookworm, but his language development was a little slower than his peers. There were not only two people who had injured Henry's nose, bigger than him. He's one of the top three child wizards in the tower.

"Just me. Obviously, that human can't be on time with me." Henry's small hand pointed to the distance. "Hey, it's Ommi. I'm going to come back."

"Come and play moderately."

"No, it is not! Rasmus urges me to investigate it." Isak tilted his head and laughed. "Yes, don't bother me."

Henry nodded his head and walked away. Isak stood with his back against the wall and looked at Henry. He is driven by curiosity. And Meldenik's very existence arouses his curiosity. The most important thing is the flow of mana that is bizarrely woven within her. 'What is the limit of your power? Why are they here? Finally...'

'What happened to the Duke of Hezman?' Remembering the dumbfounded expression on the Duke of Hezman's face, he smiled again. In fact, I didn't intend to focus on or investigate Meldenik.

'Even if you look too close...' Isak hummed and looked at Meldenik, who was walking slowly. '...It looks harmless. They look so much the same on the outside and on the inside.' He hid himself in the shadows as he watched Henry run fast on his short legs.
