Chapter 1 - chapter 1 - ordinary

On an Ordinary Morning

On a typical morning, Ayano woke up from her sleep, rising from the floor to check the time on her old phone, She walked to the bathroom to wash her face and looked at herself in the mirror-a 17-year-old girl with long blue hair and sad, depressed blue eyes. That's who she was, After finishing in the bathroom, she left the house for school.

The situation at school wasn't any better, She had no friends or anyone to talk to, But that was trivial and normal for her-it wasn't the source of her suffering.

After classes ended, she didn't go home, She had to go to work. She had a part-time job at a café, which she hated deeply, but she couldn't find anywhere else that would hire her. She desperately needed the money.

When her shift ended, Ayano still didn't return home,There was one last place she had to visit, the hospital.

Inside, she walked through hallways and stairs until she reached a certain room. Before opening the door, she forced a fake smile and entered.

"Hiiii, how are you today? I'm doing fine, and you?"

Ayano sat on a chair beside the hospital bed.

"Everything's okay with me. I'm still working and studying. Everything's normal, just ordinary. I keep telling myself that maybe things will get better... but it never works. I wish you were with me, Mom."

On the bed lay the unconscious body of her mother, who had been in a coma for two years.

Since that day, Ayano had been struggling to cover the medical bills. She knew her mother wouldn't be able to pay them even if she woke up-of she woke up.

Ayano's only wish was to help her mother in any way she could, She had even sold all the furniture in her room and started sleeping on the floor, To her, the house felt empty-she was the loneliest person in the world.

But she knew crying wouldn't help, Ayano knelt beside the bed, holding her mother's cold hand one last time before her visiting hours ended.

She knew she needed another job,Her mother's bills had been piling up over the past two years,She had no choice but to drop out of school and find full-time work.

This was her ordinary day,It was normal-but no one said it was happy.
