Chapter 1 - THE BACHELOR 1

Chibuzor when are you getting married mama asked with anger when she entered my house, she looked around the sitting room then looked at me again from head to toe the look on her face was like of a mother who is disappointed in his child but I don't care of the look, I'm not just ready for the kind of life now. She asked again this house is big enough for you to raise the family of four so whats the issue?

I'm not scared of the marriage life but I'm not ready for that life for now I'm still in my early 20's so I don't know why my mum is hell bent on me getting married when I'm not even her first born, every time she come for visit the first thing she'd remind me of is getting married and having kids, last time she came visiting she suggested if maybe I was shy to speak to ladies so she can help me get a lady I just laugh it off.

My mum was still standing while I was carrying her bag, mama at least sit down and let me get something for you to eat, she said now you see if not that you're single your wife should've come and welcome me and offer me food but what food do you have for me to eat, I'm not eating that food prepared by you for your information, I laughed then you want to stave, if you want kids to be running at you then you don't have to come to my house. Aunty Amaka is married already and with two kids if that your issue you can always go there and play with her kids.

I left her in the siting room to drop her luggage in the room, I came back to the siting already eating groundnut she said she bought in traffic, I asked what she would like to eat, she said rice and stew, I stood up to the kitchen and served her plate. She began eating and she said there's something important she wants to tell me, whats that mama? Do you know that my friend mama uche, yes I know her, good her second daughter would be getting married soon, this cloth I'm putting her we bought it for Roland traditional wedding, even Emeka you class mate back in secondary school as two kids already, mama just leave me and this your talk when I'm ready to get married I'll let you know but for now I'm okay with myself.
