Looking for Obito?
What a coincidence.
The White Zetsu that had been summoned reported that Lord Kei had just given that exact command. And now Uchiha Madara had issued the same order. This called for some serious scrutiny.
Sure, intel had already been shared, but Lord Kei wasn't Madara. And by now, we've all taken Kei-sama's shape.
Grinning, the White Zetsu said it would investigate immediately—then swiftly relayed the information to the others, making sure Big White passed it on to Uchiha Kei.
The situation was like a deluded billionaire husband thinking he's in control, while his wife and mistress are secretly putting horns on his head—comically tragic.
Soon enough, Uchiha Kei's shadow clone learned via Big White that Madara had discovered Obito's disappearance and was actively searching for him.
That surprised Kei. The old man Madara actually noticed something was wrong? And he was planning to act on it?
Was he really about to make a move in the real world?
Damn, was he going that hard?
Had the system's "otaku combo meal" really had such an effect on Madara? To stir that ancient body into motion—especially when it didn't seem to endanger his life?
After all, unless Obito had truly won Madara's favor through the game, there was no way he'd get involved directly.
To Madara, the Eye of the Moon Plan was everything. Even his in-game antics were done on the premise that nothing would jeopardize that plan.
If Madara really did interfere, things could get messy—possibly even disrupt Kei's own follow-up plans.
So… should he hide this from Madara?
Kei thought for a second and shook his head.
Yes, White Zetsu could lie about it, and they wouldn't refuse. But based on what Kei planned to unleash soon, trying to keep Madara in the dark would definitely backfire. The moment Madara suspected the White Zetsus' loyalty, the whole "traitor Zetsu" operation he'd built would collapse.
Because no matter how rebellious the Zetsus got, Black Zetsu still held the master control. And if Black Zetsu started poking around, the double-agent act would fall apart instantly.
So sacrificing the Zetsus' loyalty just to mislead Madara? That would be a massive strategic blunder.
Decision made, Kei ordered Big White to tell the truth—let the Zetsus report the info directly to Madara.
Soon enough, Madara learned what happened.
Uchiha Obito had indeed been taken.
And the culprits? Two Root operatives disguised as ANBU.
They had lured Obito out of the conference venue and into a quiet alley before dropping their disguises and threatening him.
They didn't use force. Though they were stronger than Obito, he still had a 3-tomoe Sharingan in both eyes. A fight would've caused a scene.
So, like their leader Shimura Danzō, they resorted to slimy tactics.
"Obito Uchiha, you wouldn't want anything to happen to Nohara Rin, would you?"
With that line, they pulled out Rin's handkerchief.
Obito's fury exploded—his Sharingan snapped open in a flash.
Had the Root shinobi not warned him to stay quiet, Obito would've screamed in rage.
There was no doubt—Rin was Obito's greatest weakness. His reverse scale. Threatening her rendered him completely powerless.
He didn't resist. He couldn't. He followed them without a fight.
That was what had happened while Kakashi and the others were still inside the game world.
They had used Rin as bait, and Obito had taken it. Hook, line, and sinker.
Upon learning this, Madara's aged, cloudy eyes flared with murderous rage.
"Root? You mean… the Root of Konoha? That cesspool founded by Shimura Danzō, inheritor of Tobirama's vile ways? Those sewer rats dared to lay hands on Obito Uchiha—and even targeted that Nohara Rin girl he holds dear?"
"This… This makes even my aged soul burn with fury…"
Madara muttered, voice trembling.
The memories he'd buried—memories from playing the game *Escape*—were bubbling back up. The psychological wounds. The hate.
Back when that game stoked his wrath, he'd already wanted to destroy Root.
But at the time, even after reopening his eyes thanks to the game's emotional impact, he couldn't act. His focus had remained on finding a successor for the Eye of the Moon Plan.
Later, the system's energy-boosting otaku meal revived him, and he got swept up in gaming. Then came news of the new title being released, so his attention drifted again.
One thing after another had kept him from dealing with Root.
But now?
Now Root had dared to strike first—against the very candidate he'd chosen to inherit his will.
Unforgivable.
The fire and malice Madara had been bottling up now erupted.
So he decided: this was the moment. Time to test the new Mangekyō Sharingan—on Root.
He immediately ordered White Zetsu to summon Tobi (Obito's disguise).
Clearly, Madara planned to merge with Tobi again—and head out.
Not waiting around, Madara vanished using the Body Flicker Technique, heading toward the cliffs behind the Hokage Rock.
That's where Root's HQ was located.
To most of the shinobi world, its location was a mystery. But not to Madara. The Zetsus had reported it long ago when Danzō first built the base.
Meanwhile, Kei received the news from Big White.
Madara was really going after Danzō and Root?
Kei was speechless. He wanted to make the face of that confused anime guy meme.
Madara, the man who clung to his Eye of the Moon Plan like a cockroach to the shadows—he was moving?
In canon, Madara stayed hidden until death. But now?
He'd relocated near Konoha, abandoned his hermit ways, and was going to confront Danzō *personally*?
It was so ridiculous that Kei half-wondered if someone had possessed Madara's body.
Classic reaction?
"Old man Madara is going to beat up old man Danzō? What kind of dream is this?"
