Chapter 3 - Chapter : 3

A new president was inaugurated. It's the beginning of the year, so that's to be expected. The problem is, the president's inauguration speech sounds familiar.

<"I will create a country you've never experienced before.">

Regression. Maybe I underestimated returning to the past.

'I'm screwed...'

Difficulty level: Hell, confirmed.

Next Chapter

A country never experienced before. The first female president's inaugural address became a reality, regardless of her intentions.

'Historical events are happening in succession.'

The Korea-Japan trade dispute, the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war, stagflation, and so on. It's the beginning of a chaotic period where the common sense of the previous world no longer applies. It was the most desperate time in Korea's long history. The sheer speed, like compressing and sending off the previous 20 years, leaves me disoriented.

'Especially for investors.'

It remains a trauma for countless investors. If you rode a roller coaster at 4x speed, that's what it would feel like. My investment debut period. Ironically, because I went through such an absurd time, I am who I am today.

<"Opportunity will be equal. The process will be fair. The result will be just!">

Of course, it's not the president's fault. The era itself was turbulent, and it would have been difficult to avoid minor tremors no matter who was in power.

'Anyway.'

The worst era. I thought God sent me here to get rich, but he pulled a stunt that's on par with sending me back to the military. One fortunate thing is that I've already served in the military. Maybe rotting for two years in the military would be better.

<"I will change Korea's division and conflict!">

<>

The innocent citizens, unaware of the chaotic future, are praising the president's inaugural address. I want to join in, but the current situation doesn't allow it. Because I know everything.

'What do I do, what do I do?'

My hands and feet are trembling. I unconsciously bite my thumbnail. It's that much of a crisis. But any situation can be utilized. If you reverse 'crisis'...

'Sisic... that doesn't mean anything.'

I'm screwed. No matter how much I struggle, a crisis doesn't stop being a crisis. Nevertheless, I desperately rack my brain. Within the president's words.

'Right, people first!'

There was one point I sympathized with. It's the motto of the president, who fought for human rights her entire life. I didn't realize it at the time. Why? There's no value more important than money, is there? That wasn't the case. I only came to appreciate the president's profound meaning after growing older.

'I have to raise the people who will work in my company.'

Making a lot of money is important. But no matter how much money you have, if management is poor, it leaks away. A famous Japanese investor, BNF, had a limit of 160 billion won that he could manage alone. Unable to handle the large size, he turned to safe assets like real estate. This means that I, who am superior to him, still had limits. With mediocre employees...

'It's just unstable.'

I handled most of the work myself. What happened with that damned woman was, in hindsight, inevitable. Abnormal signs appearing in the market. My body was insufficient to detect them and respond appropriately. I need someone to replace me. Someone I, the suspicious me, can trust and entrust with tasks.

KakaoTalk!

A stage for that. It was arranged by a coincidence that wasn't a coincidence. At the university that I could call my alma mater.

'Korea University, that's right.'

It's one of Korea's leading universities. It stands shoulder to shoulder with SKY universities, and in some aspects, it's superior. Even so, it's just average on a global level. It's also why I decided to drop out.

[Economics Department Male Group Chat]

"You know there's a freshman welcoming party today, right?"

"Oh"

"Those who come, please bring 50,000 won for the participation fee. It's not mandatory."

"OMG 50,000 lol"

"Why so much T_T"

Those pathetic guys strut around acting like elite university students. That's one of the reasons I quit, I couldn't stand seeing that.

'Still, I might be able to discover a few useful guys.'

It's a prestigious university in its own right. It probably won't just be full of airheads. University is the most suitable place to build connections.

"50,000 is a bit much."

"That's because the seniors decided to pay for the freshmen's drinking fees too. We all received it, so we should return it~"

"Oops, I'm busy haha..."

"The class president is struggling."

-Is the atmosphere good?

A worthy event. A freshman welcoming party is about to be held. I can see the most insane people in our department at a glance.

'It'll be worth participating.'

At the very least, I might be able to create a list of people to avoid. And one more thing. It was worth participating.

"There are a lot of female students from the '17 class."

"Ooh~"

"What's the point if there are many, damn it."

"Do you think the kids who come to our school are pretty? LOL"

"Sometimes there are exceptions."

"What?"

"Don't lie."

"The valedictorian is pretty good. That's all."

"That's all?"

"Playing hard to get, are we?"

'If the atmosphere's good, I should go.'

As a senior, I can impart wisdom to my fledgling juniors. Whether it's day or night, or at a drinking party. It's a mood. I, a successful (formerly) investor on Wall Street, will make an appearance.

There's one small problem, though.

Deposit/Withdrawal Account

02120-10-697482

Account Balance: 520,892 won

I'm a little short on cash. In this era, I'm a poor young man who just finished military service and lived in a rented room.

'If I don't have money, I can just copy it, right?'

It's literally trivial. Marie Antoinette's unreasonable remark is actually a plausible logic in modern times. It's also 8 AM. The time when humans feel the least guilt and can become most greedy.

─Welcome to the Gambler's Canyon!

The only gambling allowed by the state. The KOSPI can multiply money several times a day depending on one's ability. I turn on the HTS (Home Trading System). And finish the settings. All that's left is to wait for 09:00.

'Open the casino doors!'

For the first time in a while, my blood is boiling. Sitting at a desk and just giving orders, I couldn't enjoy this fun gambling.

'No... it's investment.'

Anyway, the task is clear. Bet on stocks that are likely to rise and win money. That's stock trading.

Naturally, it's not easy. You have to analyze if it's a good company.

'What good stocks were there around this time?'

Memories from over 20 years ago. There's no way they'd remain in my head. Even if they did, I wouldn't know about today. Even if a company becomes 10x or 20x in the distant future, it might go down today. That's why stock trading has to be difficult.

'What should I buy to make people say I bought well?'

The current time is 8:55 AM. No matter how successful a fund CEO I was, I can't grasp it in 5 minutes.

[TOP 20 News to Watch Before Market Open]

─Nasdaq closes −2.2%... Powell says he will definitely kill Nasdaq

─Reasons why Samsung Electronics, SQ Technology stock is 'running further'

─[Featured Stock] Chairman Ssangburat: "I will participate in the Ssangducha acquisition battle."

─[Econo Briefing] 5 companies participate in Ssangducha acquisition battle, etc.

...

The first thing to check. It's the US and European stock markets from the previous day. Looking at the news headlines...

'Powell made another statement.'

He's a crazy old man. He enjoys manipulating the US dollar at his whim and spouts absurdities when he's bored. Old men's trait! They get easily upset. If you don't react, you don't know what they'll do, so you have to pretend to be anxious and make the stock prices fall. That ripple effect extends to the KOSPI on the other side of the globe. If the Nasdaq falls, the domestic market is bound to shake.

Finding stocks that will rise today just got harder. But even if the sky falls, there's a hole to escape through.

'Ssangducha acquisition battle, huh...'

The act of one company acquiring another. When such an event occurs, stock prices usually soar. Not by a tantalizing 1 or 2%, but by 30% or more. The risk is also high. It's probably already reflected in the stock price, and if the acquisition fails, it can plummet endlessly.

'Ssangburat? It's some unheard-of penny stock.'

If it were a good company, it would still be okay. If it went down, I could average down and wait for a rescue team. But a so-called penny stock, an unheard-of company, it wouldn't be strange if it became toilet paper instead of recovering its original value.

Gulp!

I encountered a difficulty from my very first trade after returning. A rational investor would never do this. Investment guru Warren Buffett also warned. A wise investor invests, not speculates. It's also a story that represents his investment philosophy. He succeeded through value investing.

'I think it looks cheap, though?'

It's about buying undervalued company stocks and seeing profits in the distant future.

'I don't have time for that gay shit.'

I can't wait leisurely. I need to win money at the gambling den right now. No, investment. Warren Buffett is also a human, and he sometimes makes exceptions to his investment principles.

"If you're not willing to own a stock for 10 years, don't even think about owning it for 10 minutes." — Warren Buffett

It's an adage even non-stock investors have heard at some point. Surprisingly, many people don't know its true meaning.

'It's a story worth pondering.'

But there's no need to overthink it. It's like dropping food. Like the 3-second rule.

─Buy order executed!

With stocks, you just need to get out within 9 minutes and 59 seconds.

Next Chapter

The 3-second rule of the stock market. It's an actual trading method.

'Many professional investors do it.'

Immediate profit is needed. Such investors take risks and jump into the fire.

─An ant has been hit!

Enemy double kill!

Naturally, it can't be easy. A stock that surged 5% drops to 2%. As ants cling on, institutions or major players take profits. The ants are, in vulgar terms, stuck.

'If this were easy, why would people work?'

Based on a 10 million won seed investment. Even if you only gain +30% once a month, that's 3 million won. Money literally duplicates. If you have more seed money, or even use leverage? Earning tens or hundreds of millions of won is by no means a dream. In theory, that is.

─Institutions are slaughtering!

Foreigners are rampaging!

95% of individual investors lose money. There's a reason why statistics lead to that conclusion.

'When it goes down, you get incredibly anxious, don't you?'

Why are they selling? There must be a reason for them to sell. Things that weren't visible when you were full of hope finally become clear.

Ssangburat Financial Statement

[Roughly a picture of a Rumble ult being cast.jpg]

For example, the financial statements. Seeing the company's management report belatedly, I realize my mistake.

'First of all, their operating profit is completely messed up.'

A company incurring losses. And it's even small. Its market capitalization is only 100 billion won. While Ssangducha is 500 billion won. It's like a shrimp trying to swallow a whale. I can't help but think: A company 5 times its size, and it's trying to acquire it? This makes no sense.

─Buy order executed!

Buying it regardless of whether it makes sense is scalping. What I'm doing now isn't just day trading.
