Chapter 11 - Three years

Wake up early, meditate in the crypt of the Cemetery of Souls, and practice spells. Right after that, sit in the strange cemetery and let as many souls touch me as I can until I almost pass out…

At least that was Professor Lich's instruction. Before, when I entered this place, all I felt were chills, but now, after 3 years of doing this every day, I have finally started to see a glimpse of the souls.

At first, when they touched me, I would vaguely feel a chill all over my body, then I started to feel which specific part of my body was touched, until a few weeks ago, I could finally see the souls that were about 2 meters away. Their figures were distorted, and I couldn't see their bodies. But it was still there, a skill that I truly mastered after much effort, pain, and dedication.

After the daily torture in the Cemetery of Souls, I had classes with the Immortal Master. He taught me many unique rituals that he himself created, as well as many shortcuts and other tips that made my journey on the path of Necromancy much easier.

In the afternoon, the Old Lich continued teaching me the basics and helping me review any common questions I had.

It was also thanks to him that I finally mastered the use of the Alteration, Separation, and Synthesis spells. Of course, despite the names being the same as those used by Blood Mages, these were the Necromancer versions, used specifically to work with souls.

Zha'Thik's Shadowmancy classes only happened once a month, and I was far from learning the basics. But I wasn't in a hurry; the world of Necromancers was fascinating, and I was too focused on that to be interested in anything else at the moment.

At lunchtime, I once again had a royal feast in my room, and while I ate, I couldn't help but notice that I had gained weight again... Rafael would be upset if he saw me like this again, he said he was my Personal Trainer? I don't remember if that was his name...

But I'm sure he would understand, after all, besides forgetting to bring the items I used to train in Asshai, I also gradually stopped training with my axe... Life in this tower was very lonely, and the food was really good... How could I say no to so many delicacies?

Well, putting my weight aside, I had finished learning "Summon Lesser Undead", and was now about to learn my first curse. Although it was weak against the living, "Purge Soul" was great for creatures without a body...

Among the spells I was planning to learn after this one were "Create Soul Stone" and "Control Souls". The first was a facility that would save me from performing rituals every time I wanted to create a simple stone in the Cemetery of Souls, and the other was one of the first requirements for an advanced spell…

After my lunch, I spent the whole afternoon working on a corpse, This was supposed to be my first subordinate corpse, a resistant warrior that could be easily controlled. It wasn't ready yet, as I was too focused on making it perfect. Of course, in the middle of the afternoon, a warm, sweet bread came from the kitchen. It was time for a snack, this bread was a perfect imitation of the Dragon Bomb I ate as a child…

It only didn't have a dragon shape because I was embarrassed to ask the rude cook for something so childish… I went back to working on my undead knight until 8:00 pm, when I called it a day again and went to dinner. Once again, it was another feast fit for a king…

After that, I spent some time in the library hoping to see Anita again. But I had no luck. In the last 3 years, I have only been able to meet this girl 6 times. And only on the last two occasions did I finally introduce myself and find out her name... Since I didn't have much else to do, and it was almost midnight, I decided to call it a day.

But not before I went to the kitchen and asked Madame Numma to make me something to eat before bed. I didn't want to wake up hungry in the middle of the night...

During the night, while my body was sleeping, I used my spells to become conscious during one of my dreams. After realizing that it was a dream from my childhood, while I was home alone, I simply came out of it, and my soul began to float around my room. The sensation was similar to flying, and there was no weight at all, making everything very comfortable. Almost as if this was how I was supposed to live my daily life, and the thought of it scared me a little…

I made a few books float towards me using my Soul Telekinesis. Among them was one called "Energy of the Sky," a rare book from the Yi Ti region, and I began to study it during the night. In it, I saw some possibilities for my body affinity, which now, after mastering my first spell, had left me very disappointed due to the waste of resources and time for something so useless…
