Chapter 10 - chapter 10

Clash of Flames

Alaric and Seris collided beneath the crimson glow of the Blood Moon, their bodies a whirlwind of fur, steel, and raw power. The ground trembled beneath their feet as their claws scraped stone and ripped through ancient runes.

Seris fought like a tempest—precise, ruthless, her crimson eyes burning with cold fire. She struck with the force of a winter gale, her attacks sharp and calculated, born from memories of ancient battles and dark rituals.

Alaric countered with the fury of a storm unleashed—each strike carrying the weight of his rebirth and the pain of loss. His golden eyes flared with determination as he sought to reach the part of her that still remembered their bond.

"Seris!" he growled, dodging a deadly swipe. "This isn't what we were made for!"

Her laugh was bitter, echoing through the shadows. "You still cling to hope. Hope is a weakness. You'll burn for it."

Their fight shattered the rune circle, sparks flying, and the Wraithbound howled in rage as the magic binding them faltered.

Lyra and the pack seized the moment—rushing the Wraithbound, cutting them down with silver blades and ancient incantations.

As the battle raged, Alaric caught Seris off guard, slamming her against the obsidian wall of the tower.

"Look around you!" he snarled. "This place is a tomb, a prison for what the Circle fears! We can end this—together!"

For a moment, her crimson eyes flickered.

Then she smiled—a predator's grin.

"You never understood, Alaric. The Circle didn't want rulers. They wanted weapons. And I am their masterpiece."

Her claws flashed, and Alaric barely blocked the strike.

The clash continued, a dance of light and shadow, fire and ice.

Finally, Alaric's strength surged—his claw sinking deep into Seris's shoulder. She hissed but didn't falter.

"I won't fight you forever," she whispered, voice trembling between rage and something else. "If you can save me… do it now."

Alaric hesitated, the memory of their past washing over him—the bond they once shared, the hope of the Moonborn united.

He withdrew his claw slowly.

"Then come back," he said. "Come back to the light with me."

Seris's eyes searched his, a battle raging within.

Suddenly, the tower shook violently.

From the depths beneath, a monstrous roar erupted—an ancient power awakening.

The true enemy was stirring.
