THE DUST HAS RETURNED – SEASON ONE (Full Compilation)By MuthokaPart 1: The Sound Beneath the Soil

The dry winds of Kako village returned, carrying more than dust. They carried memories. Whispers. Regrets. And in the middle of it stood Muthoka — a young man who had left for the city, determined to never come back.

But death has a way of calling us home.

He had come back to bury his uncle. The ceremony was filled with familiar faces, but the atmosphere was heavy. Something about Kako had changed.

That night, he heard it — a whisper in the wind calling his name from beneath the soil. A childhood memory resurfaced: the night his mother had run through the rain, carrying charms, crying about "Kamene's darkness."

He brushed it off as stress.

Until he saw her again.

Mama Mbula.

Kamene.

His mother's oldest enemy.

Part 2: The Night the Sky Turned Upside Down

It rained on a night it shouldn't have. The skies flipped, and lightning danced like angry spirits. A neighbor boy was found unconscious near the river, muttering about eyes in the water. People whispered about the old spirits — the majini that were said to dwell where the two rivers met.

Muthoka, skeptical but shaken, visited Pastor Ridgeway's church the next morning.

That's when it happened.

A man convulsed during worship. His voice changed. He screamed.

"SHE SENT ME! KAMENE SENT ME!"

Everyone froze.

Mr. Ridgeway rebuked the spirit with scripture. The thing screamed and left.

People turned to Mama Mbula's compound that night with questions. But the gate was locked. Her compound had grown silent. Too silent.

Part 3: Mbula's Dilemma

Mbula, Kamene's only daughter, stood between two worlds. She loved God. But she loved her mother.

She began avoiding church.

In secret, she burned her mother's charms. She washed herself with prayer and tears.

Kamene confronted her and cursed her. But Mbula did not back down.

"You gave me life, Mama. But you won't take my soul."

One night, Mbula ran to the river to pray.

And the waters boiled.

Kamene watched from a distance, her eyes wide with fear. Her own daughter had been claimed by something she couldn't control.

Part 4: The Fire at Night

A fire broke out in Mama Mbula's compound.

Locals claimed they saw shadows dancing inside the flames.

The fire consumed a single hut — Kamene's shrine.

And yet, the fire did not touch the trees or neighboring huts.

"God is purging the land," Pastor Ridgeway said.

Kamene fled the village the next morning.

She was last seen at the place where the two rivers met — whispering to the water.

Part 5: When the Devil Spoke in Church

For the first time, Kako villagers gathered in unity for a church service under the stars. Muthoka sat in the front row.

Then a man stood up and screamed.

A deep voice boomed from him.

"You cannot save them. They belong to the river. I was sent by Kamene. And I have come for her daughter!"

The spirit thrashed, clawed, and spat.

But Mr. Ridgeway and the congregation prayed in unity.

The demon was cast out.

And the man fell silent.

That night, no one slept easy.

Part 6: The River Knows Her Name

Mbula was found at the river, praying again.

She confronted the spirits.

And they answered.

But instead of fear, she stood in worship.

"You may know my name, but I belong to one who knows your end."

The waters calmed. And the mist lifted.

When she returned, villagers whispered:

"She walked into the river and didn't drown. The spirits bowed to her."

Kamene watched from afar.

And she wept.

Part 7: Kaluvu and the Mtaros of Regret

Mutuku, the village elder (and loudest drunk), was found asleep inside a mtaro after a heavy kaluvu session.

Kasevi, his wife, was called to collect him.

She came with a mwiko.

And the whole village laughed.

Even in darkness, joy danced through Kako's laughter.

Part 8: Kasevi's Son and the River's Warning

Kasevi's son, Petero, had taken to bhang. They warned him about the river.

He swam there once.

And didn't come out.

Until Mbula prayed.

He gasped back to life, coughing river water and shame.

That was the last time he touched drugs.

Part 9: Kamene's Last Stand

Kamene returned one final time.

She stood outside the church, cursed it, and spat.

But her voice trembled.

Inside, Muthoka was preaching for the first time.

The wind changed.

Kamene dropped to her knees.

And she whispered,

"Forgive me."

Part 10: The Dust Has Returned

The service was full.

Muthoka stood behind the pulpit, shaking.

He saw shadows slither toward him.

Whispers filled his ears.

But then he heard:

"I have called you, son. Speak."

He preached like fire.

Kamene came forward in tears. Mama Mbula fell at the altar.

And Muthoka was delivered.

The dust had returned — but it did not destroy.

It was swept away by wind.

A new wind.

A Holy one.
