I raced down the corridor behind Lyra and Elina, my heart pounding against my ribs like a trapped animal. The triumph I'd felt just minutes ago had vanished completely, replaced by a growing knot of dread.
"They're in Alpha Kaelen's quarters," Elina said over her shoulder, her voice trembling. "Lady Isolde summoned every healer in the pack."
My legs felt leaden as we approached Kaelen's door. Two guards stood outside, their expressions grim as they recognized me. One opened the door without a word, but the accusation in his eyes was unmistakable.
