Seraphina's POV
I raced through the mansion's hallways, my heart hammering against my ribs. As I turned the corner toward Kaelen's study, I heard growling and shouting. My feet moved faster, propelled by fear for Rhys.
The study door was ajar. I burst through it, confronted by a scene that made my blood run cold. Kaelen had shifted back to human form, thankfully dressed in pants someone must have brought him. He had Rhys pinned against the wall, forearm pressed against his throat. Orion stood nearby, arms crossed, eyes narrowed dangerously.
"Tell me the truth!" Kaelen roared, his face inches from Rhys's. "You sent those roses!"
Rhys struggled for breath, his face reddening. "Alpha... I swear... I didn't—"
"Liar!" Kaelen slammed him harder against the wall. "You've been watching her. Following her. I've seen how you look at her!"
"Stop it!" I screamed, rushing forward without thinking. "You're hurting him!"
