Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO - Pregnant?!

"Girlll! Where have you been?" Hope screamed as Jennifer walked through the front door of their apartment. She ran up to her and engulfed her in a bear hug. "You wouldn't believe what happened last night." Jennifer said as she plopped herself down on the living room couch.

"I was looking all over for you. I was so worried that something terrible had happened to you. You should have told me when you were leaving." Hope sounded so worried as she said this.

"I'm really sorry, baby girl. I was so drunk last night. But before I give you the tea, I'm going to need you to get me an aspirin and some water. I have a splitting headache." As Hope fetched the pain relief drug, Jennifer began to tell her as much as she could remember from the night before.

"At least you had fun. That is all that matters." Hope said as she laughed at Jennifer. "By the way, did you even get to ask him for his name?" She asked.

"Of course I did. He said his name was Dwayne." Jennifer replied to her.

"Dwayne?" Hope asked. Her facial expression changed. "Dwayne? And you said he lived around where?"

"Some nice condo in Bellevue, why?" Jennifer asked, tilting her head in curiosity.

"You had a one-night stand with Dwayne Stryker?" Hope screamed at her in disbelief.

"Who the heck is Dwayne Stryker and how do you know he's the one I had a one-night stand with?" Jen rolled her eyes as she asked.

"He is the only Dwayne in this damn city that is rich enough to live in Bellevue. Besides, the house you described to me does not sound like a regular condo so it checks out. How don't you know him, girl? He owns the largest technology company in the industry and basically every large company in Seattle. Heck, he owns the nightclub we went to last night. He is crazy rich. I think he even got on the Forbes list as the youngest billionaire in America." Hope explained as she paced back and forth and finally settled back on the bed.

"I honestly don't know him and I really couldn't care any less. It was a good night and it is over now. Life goes on." Jennifer sighed and lay back down on the bed.

"I honestly don't know him and I really couldn't care any less. It was a good night and it is over now. Life goes on." Jennifer sighed and lay down on the bed, using her hand to rub her forehead.

"You are right. Life goes on. How's your headache now?" Hope asked as she patted Jennifer's head gently.

"I'll feel better once I get some sleep. It's getting better though." Jennifer said as she shut her eyes to get some sleep.

After a few minutes of little talk, Jennifer fell asleep on Hope's lap.

**THREE WEEKS LATER**

Jennifer's eyes flew open, she felt sick to her stomach and she felt a very strong urge to vomit. Before she knew what was happening, she found herself running to the bathroom and bending over the toilet bowl, throwing up the contents of her stomach.

After she had cleaned herself up, she dragged herself to the dining room and poured herself a glass of water as she pulled out one of the dining chairs and sat on it.

She began to think of all the possible reasons why she would suddenly just wake up with the strong urge to vomit.

She was so lost in thought that she did not even realize it when Hope walked into the room and sat beside her.

"What are you thinking of?" Hope asked, snapping Jennifer back into reality.

"Oh good morning, Hope." Jennifer said, gathering her thoughts and settling back into reality.

"Good morning my darling. Are you good? Should I make you some eggs? I'm making some for myself." Hope asked in a worried tone.

"I'm okay Hope and I would love to have some eggs." Jennifer answered and smiled warmly to put Hope out of her worry.

Hope got to frying the eggs and as soon as Jennifer smelt the frying eggs, she immediately felt the strong urge to vomit and rushed to the bathroom to do so.

After she cleaned herself up again, her and Hope sat at the dining table in an awkward silence.

"Before we jump to conclusions, let us just go and grab a test kit." Hope suggested finally breaking the silence.

They both got dressed and went to a nearby pharmacy, got the cheapest pregnancy test kit they could find and headed straight home.

After they got home and got Jennifer to try the test, they waited for what seemed to be the longest fifteen minutes ever.

The test confirmed their worst expectations. Jennifer was pregnant.

"We are going to have to locate Dwayne and tell him. Do you remember the way to his condo?" Hope asked after she had confirmed the test results.

"I remember the way there. But he will not take responsibility for this pregnancy. Going there is of no use." Jennifer explained amidst tears.

"He might not but we should still try, shouldn't we? Now pull yourself together and get dressed, let's go confront that prick." Hope said all fired up.

After they had both gotten dressed, they headed out and thanks to Jennifer's photographic memory, they got to the mansion in no time.

They alighted the cab and walked to the gate. A minute passes after they pressed the bell and a voice boomed from the intercom.

"Welcome to the Stryker mansion, how may I help you?" The voice asked politely.

"Get your boss for us right now or else we'll turn this place upside down." Hope screamed back into the intercom.

After an intense back and forth, the gates finally open, letting them into the huge compound.

As if on cue, Dwayne Stryker walked out through the front door.

Jennifer froze as she saw him. And annoyingly, he smiled at her and opened his arms wide for a hug.

"I was wondering when you would come crawling back to me." Dwayne said smugly.

She stopped him dead in his tracks, "I'm pregnant." She announced.

"Is this some sort of joke? What do you mean you are pregnant? We slept together once and you came up with the silly plot to try and keep me to yourself? How desperate can you be?" Dwayne spat with disgust.

"It is not a plot, moron. She is actually pregnant. And you're the one responsible for her pregnancy." Hope finally spoke up.

"I'm not surprised anyways. You are not the first woman to try this senseless and useless trick." He said.

"Look here, uhmmm, whatever your name is, I did not even have consensual sex with you for you to try and pin a pregnancy on me. I was completely drunk so I won't agree to this." He continued.

"My name is Jennifer, for your information and whether you like it or not, I am pregnant and you're the father of the baby. It has already happened and there's no taking it back. We shouldn't even be arguing right now, we should be discussing how we can co-parent peacefully." Jennifer finally spoke up.

"I just told you, I am not responsible for the baby inside you so I'm not taking any responsibility. As you can see, I'm dressed to go out so get the fuck out of my house now." He yelled.

"But Dwayne..." Jennifer started.

"Security!" Dwayne shouted, cutting her off, "See them out, please." He said as he turned and entered his car.

Two buff looking bodyguards appeared behind him and proceeded to escort the girls out of the house. They began to protest but when they realized that it was a total waste, Hope held Jennifer's hand and began to lead them to the main road.
