As the bell rang once more to signal the end of the lesson, Yuuji got up from his desk and spoke to Kenta, seeing as he was more outgoing–he naturally knew a lot more people than Yuuji did–he assumed that Kenta may know of Himari.
Yuuji spoke with a low soft voice as to not catch any unwanted attention, just in case any of the school "theorists" assumed he had a crush on her.
"Yo Kenny."
"What is it Yu-yu?"
Kenta spoke as excited as ever and referred to Yuuji as "Yu-yu", a name in which he hated with a burning passion.
"Please never call me that again"
Yuuji spoke with pure and utter disdain and disappointment in his voice, he just wanted to go home as soon as possible.
"What do you know about that blonde firework girl? Himari Nozawa."
"Never heard of her!!"
Yuuji was disappointed yet again, although for a different reason than his stupid nickname, he watched as Kenta half-skipped towards the classroom door and waved him over.
Slowly but surely Yuuji picked up his jet black backpack and put it on his right arm–no point in putting it on both since their next lesson wasn't very far away.
As Yuuji left the classroom, he felt something slam into his side, at a very high pace, and he toppled over–as he was mid step.
Yuuji opened his eyes to see a blonde girl lying across him, after a few seconds Yuuji realised it was Himari–they were running into each other more today than they ever had before, albeit it's only been twice but before he had never seen her at all.
"Himari?"
Himari poked her head up and looked at Yuuji–her head was originally lying on his chest from how they'd fallen.
"Oh hey Yuuji!!"
Himari very enthusiastically tried to hug Yuuji–causing him to have to push her off, it was clear she had no friends that were male, as if she did, she would've known doing that would've started rumours had he not reacted in time.
"What are you doing!?"
Yuuji speaks to her in both an aggravated but also questioning tone, he pushes her fully off of him and stands up, brushing his knees.
"Huh? I hug all my friends like that!"
Himari was clearly oblivious to the fact Yuuji was talking about running down the halls–not her feeble attempt at affection.
"I meant running down the halls dumbass!"
"Ohhh, I was trying to get to my next lesson!"
Himari sounds very triumphant, despite the fact she's fairly intelligent with some things, this was not one of them.
"What part of that required you to run?"
Yuuji's tone of voice had switched from aggravated to just confused on the lack of sense Himari has.
Himari finally decides to stand up and she puts her fists on her hips and looks at Yuuji as if he's the nonsensical one.
"Well I don't wanna be late to class! And by the time, I suggest you get a move on too!"
Himari then runs off to her class, that last part spoken with sarcasm and maybe a little bit of revenge, stunning Yuuji with how little sense she was making–how can someone be so energetic and then so condescending–Yuuji wasn't able to notice the second part of what she said was a joke.
Yuuji mutters under his breath.
"But you ran into me?"
Kenta smacks Yuuji on his back and they start walking to their next class which wasn't too far away, they should make it in time.
The final school bell had rung around 10 minutes ago–in his desperate attempt to get home as soon as possible, Yuuji had already made his way through the locker room and out the entrance.
As he reaches the front gate he prepares to walk home when a familiar, slightly high pitched voice can be heard, duo'd with the sound of speedy footsteps.
Yuuji sighed before he went to turn around, however, Himari had already attempted to tackle him with one of her highly hyperactive hugs.
Yuuji strafes to the right as she plants against the ground.
"Owww!"
She mumbles a little from her fall.
"What was that for Yuuji!"
"Didn't I already tell you to stop doing that?"
"Yeah, but there's no one around so you don't need to worry about rumours right?"
"Sigh, still, we've only just met."
Himari pouts as she stands up and brushes off her knees.
"Fine, fine."
"What're you doing here anyway?"
"Looking for you of course!"
Yuuji gave her an unimpressed look.
"Huh?"
"We're friends now! Aren't we?"
"I don't see how that has any correlation to this."
"We're gonna walk home together! Duh!"
Again, Himari looked at Yuuji as if he was the socially dumb one.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Kenta comes up behind Yuuji–being the one who Yuuji would usually walk with of course–and he notices Himari.
"I'm gonna get going now, bye Yuuji!!"
Kenta spoke very fast and left in a hurry, acting as if he was scared of the sight of the girl, or if he wasn't trying to interrupt anything.
Himari looks very confused by this interaction.
"Who's that?"
Yuuji was just as confused, but chose not to question it.
"That's my friend, he's called Kenta Mishima, and honestly I think he's scared of girls."
"Why would he be scared?"
"Beats me man."
Himari notices that Yuuji is distracted by that thought and takes advantage of that.
"Let's go then Yuuji! My house is this way!"
Himari would begin walking before giving Yuuji a chance to object, and it just so happens his house is in the same direction.
"Fine."
"So Yuuji, have you considered joining the fireworks club any more?"
Himari speaks with a very hoping expression on her face, which quickly turns to a pout.
"No."
"Come on!"
"I have no reason to join."
"Please!?"
Himari attempts to get him to agree by making a cute face, Yuuji is unfazed.
"No."
"Fineee."
Himari begins to ponder about what she should ask Yuuji, but before she can, she reaches her house.
"My house is here"
"My house is there"
The two spoke simultaneously, their houses standing on opposite sides of the street, well Himari's was a firework shop as well as a house.
The two look at eachother.
"Huh?"
"Huh?"
They speak at the same time again, and Himari gets a rather childish idea.
"Jinx!"
"You really are childish aren't you?"
"Hey! You're not supposed to speak until I say your name , Yuuji!"
"Well you just said it?"
Himari realises that she just lost her own game.
"Shut up!"
Yuuji turns towards his house.
"I'll be leaving now."
He begins to walk away, Himari shouts after him and waves.
"Okie! See you tomorrow!"
"Huh!? Sure, fine."
Yuuji closes his door behind him and leans up against it, slightly dumbfounded by the day he just had.
He thinks to himself.
"What the hell?"
