Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Quiet murmurs of student and the loud noise coming from the mic in the stage fills the spacious auditorium.

"Water.." Aviel gestured the staff nearby.

I glanced. Staff being so attentive in every students request during the ceremony as if one could lose their job if they don't.

The staff pouring water on Aviel's glass was shaking nervously a lot. If he continues like that it'll end up spilling on her uniform. This doesn't seem like it's his first time in the job, Is he being nervous about he's pouring a glass of water to a famous oil tycoon's favorite daughter or is it something else he's afraid of.

My eyes narrowed then took a sip from my soda.

Splash. Clank.

"What the heck..!" Aviel shouts, her eyes winced at the coldness of the water being spilled on he lap. "Are you crazy..?!" She shouts quickly wiping off the cold water.

Students from the nearby table turned their head towards us, luckily her shout wasn't too loud to disrupt the ceremony or the vice-chairman's speech.

The staff immediately went down on his knees and apologized like crazy. He was now bat-shit shaking as if his life is on the line.

"Don't cause a ruckus now, Aviel.." I sighed, and stood up from my seat. Taking off my blazer and placing it on her lap.

"Clean up your mess unless you treasure your work." I threw the box of tissue on the table towards him with a look of disappointment.

"You good..?" Caleb asked, his expression disguised his mocking in concern. The corners of his lips curled.

"What do you think? Don't you know how cold was that water, and that very cold water getting spilled on my lap out of all days I chose not to wear long socks!." She was frustrated. Aviel who is raised as her dad's favorite and priced possession, grew up spoiled.

"You look cold. Do you want my blazer as well..?" Klaus asked beside me, he was ready to take of his blazer until she refused.

"This totally sucks." She mumbled, clicking her tongue.

This three here are one of my few best friends. All four of us sitting on a 6 person table yet no student dared to get the remaining 2. Is it because the three of them are so intimidating and unapproachable.

I mean who wouldn't be intimidated when this three here are total big shots.

Lin Shuxian or Aviel Lin, she is known as the spoiled and favored daughter of that very famous oil tycoon that is greedy yet very lucky at doing business. As a known spoiled Chinese brat, she is also known for her so called nasty personality as said in the rumors, but rumors will always be rumors.

She flips her long slightly wavy brunette hair from her shoulders. Aviel always had that spoiled girl attitude, and I don't blame her for having that. She had those wide round boba like amethyst eyes and slightly noticable dark freckles on her cheeks that has been there since middle school.

"That guy has been talking for about almost a hour and half now." Caleb said smiling, his face clearly shows that he was getting impatient, his eyebrows and eyes have been twitching every 5 minutes.

"Grandpa is still away in South Korea so they had no choice but to let the Vice-Headmaster to say the opening speech.." I said with a sigh as Caleb groans in response.

His patience has wrung low today, something must've happened again before he left his house.

Caleb Dmitri Bianchi, his father's company is known for it's new technology products in his home country Italy and producing the 68% of technologies and gadgets in the world. He is a real crap prodigy, and he should be the one having the nasty personality in the rumors instead of Aviel. He is the biggest two faced freak I've ever met except from my parents.

He is 196 cm tall and ivory like skin, having a jet black low fade short hair and upturned pointed eyes that are red as a blood. His jaw was sharp and has a mole on his chin. A smile was always seen on his lips, unwavering even in at a serious situation. That is his so called facade.

"Until when will the Headmaster come back then..?" Klaus asked tucking his pinkish hair behind his ears.

"Maybe until this Friday or Saturday." I replied and glanced at Klaus's pondering expression. "Is that so..?" He replied smiling.

Klaus Lothaire Albrecht. His English-German accent is what makes him stand out from other students aside from his looks. His Mother and Older Sisters are known world wide for being great Singers, and of course as well as him. He is member of a famous music band that has recently released a new song that has been on top of Spotify ever since.

His hair was originally a lighter shade of blond but due to excessive of dying his hair it officially turned pinkish which also matched his maroon colored almond eyes. He is a 195 cm tall only 1 cm taller than me with a good body physique and beige colored skin. He is totally popular with girls due to his friendly personality however his only flaw is that he gets lost, not sometimes but almost everytime. One look away from him and when you turn back he's lost.

There has been uncountable moments this guy had been troubling us on getting lost. Just thinking about it makes my head ache.

"Lucian Etoille Academy is very much proud to see you guys here, and now without further ado. Congratulations and Welcome Freshmens!." The Vice-Headmaster shouts on mic, followed with loud claps from the crowd.

"Finally!" Caleb scoffed, clapping his hands.

After the ceremony we were escorted by the staffs towards our classroom. The door was huge and the handle was made out of gold that almost feels a bit illegal to touch. The room was spacious, crisp and elegant, rows of black-draped tables lined with paired chairs, each setting neat with laptops and books. Soft light from modern chandeliers cast a calm glow over the space, while tall curtains filtered daylight through the windows. It was perfect to accommodate 32 students in our class.

Some students have already settled themselves in the seats they've picked. Klaus was sitting beside be while Caleb and Aviel were sitting infront of us, turning their chairs backwards to face us.

"I heard from the teachers gossiping earlier at the hallway on our way to the classroom, apparently the ranking during the entrance exam will be posted in the bulletin board this lunch." Caleb whispered quietly.

"Have you already seen the ranking, Gab..?" Klaus whispered back.

"I don't need to, since I already know what my rank would be." I shrugged with a scoff. Caleb immediately whistled in response "Here comes Mr. Arrogant~" He smacks my back hard.

I let out a groan and my eyes landed upon Aviel who has her eyes wandering around the room looking so amused.

"What's wrong Aviel..?" I asked pinching Caleb's which made him curl in pain.

"I've only noticed it just now, but ain't those people sitting over there are quite the hotshots..?" She discreetly points at the direction of the seat near the teacher's table. Our heads immediately turned towards the direction.

"You're right.. It's no surprise they'll enroll in Lucian considering it's huge popularity world-wide.." I scoffed making Klaus chuckle a bit at my response.

"Now this is more like it, I can feel it on my guts that this year would be very interesting for me." Caleb said playfully followed with his mischievous grin.

Aviel rolled her eyes in his comment feeling disgusted to the point she's getting goosebumps. "Ew, what a freak."
