Su Chen's cold indifference left Liu Linger and Xiao Mei standing awkwardly at the side.
But curiosity got the better of them, and they shamelessly stayed to see what Su Chen was up to.
Before long, Liu Ke returned, holding the completed purchase contract. He shot a brief glance at the two women before handing the paperwork to Su Chen.
Su Chen didn't even bother reading it. He signed his name without hesitation and handed over his bank card.
"Congratulations, Mr. Su, on becoming the proud owner of a Nomadisen," Liu Ke said with a warm handshake.
"By the way, Manager Liu, I need one more favor. Could you arrange a driver to help me move the vehicle?"
Safety first—especially when driving a ten-ton armored luxury RV that required a Class B2 license. Su Chen didn't have one, and getting pulled over wasn't in his plans.
"Of course!" Liu Ke agreed instantly and quickly arranged for a professional driver.
Soon, the massive Nomadisen rumbled to life.
Su Chen climbed aboard at a leisurely pace. Under the stunned gazes of the crowd, the colossal vehicle slowly pulled away from the car show.
From beginning to end, Su Chen never once looked back at Liu Linger or Xiao Mei.
Watching the RV drive off, Xiao Mei clenched her fists and muttered, "Didn't you say he came from an average background? That his parents died in an accident?"
She had always dreamed of marrying rich and living in luxury. The thought that Su Chen—whom she once looked down on—might secretly be a wealthy man was a brutal slap to the face.
Her regret burned like fire.
So I'm the clown after all...
"I… I really didn't know," Liu Linger murmured, clearly rattled.
Back when they dated, Su Chen had always seemed like a regular guy. He never showed signs of wealth. Now, he was cruising off in a luxury RV worth tens of millions. She didn't understand what had changed.
But what hurt the most was that, aside from a single polite greeting, Su Chen had treated her like a complete stranger.
Nothing hurts more than seeing your ex in a million-dollar RV.
"Maybe… he was pretending to be poor all along?" Xiao Mei suggested, her mind racing. The more she thought about it, the more it made sense.
"Linger, we can't just let this go!" she said urgently."Call him! Invite him out! Try to fix things!"
Her tone had even changed—Su Chen was now "Ah Chen," a pet name she'd never used before.
Liu Linger hesitated. "I… I don't know if I can do that."
Even though she had been influenced by Xiao Mei to chase after wealth, there was still a shred of pride in her. Asking her ex to come back after everything felt humiliating.
"What do you mean you can't?" Xiao Mei said, frustrated."Su Chen clearly has money now—and good looks too. Guys like that don't stay single for long. If you don't act fast, someone else will snatch him up!"
Seeing Liu Linger waver, Xiao Mei didn't push further. She simply memorized Su Chen's phone number and, when Liu Linger wasn't looking, sent a few messages of her own.
Meanwhile, the Nomadisen rolled through the city streets like a tank, drawing countless stares.
Pedestrians stopped and gawked. Nearby cars slowed down, giving the RV a wide berth.
Inside, Su Chen watched the cityscape drift past his window, his mind heavy with thought.
He knew this peace wouldn't last. The calm before the storm would soon give way to the end of the world—chaos, destruction, and death.
"Chicken, you're too beautiful, chicken, you're really way too beautiful..."
His phone suddenly buzzed, and that ridiculous ringtone blared.
Su Chen cringed. Why the hell did I set this as my ringtone?
He checked the screen—Liu Linger.
As expected.
With his knowledge of her and Xiao Mei, it wasn't surprising they'd reach out after seeing his dramatic turnaround.
He answered.
"Hello?"
"Ah Chen…" Liu Linger spoke in a soft, almost trembling voice."There were things I never got to tell you. If you're free tonight, could we meet up and talk?"
"Sorry. I'm not free." Su Chen chuckled coldly.
He knew exactly what she meant by "talk." But he wasn't interested. That chapter of his life was over.
If he went over, it wouldn't be a conversation—it'd be seduction.
He'd loved her once. Risked his life for her. But not anymore.
"If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up."
Beep. Beep. Beep...
On the other end of the call, Liu Linger stood frozen, phone in hand, tears welling up in her eyes.
She remembered how gentle Su Chen used to be—how deeply he cared for her.
Now, he couldn't have been more indifferent.
"He must've come into some serious money," Xiao Mei said after overhearing the call. "Otherwise he wouldn't be acting this confident."
Liu Linger sighed. "Maybe… maybe we should just let it go."
"Let it go? Are you kidding?!" Xiao Mei snapped."Rich, handsome, and single? You don't find guys like that every day!"
She narrowed her eyes thoughtfully, then smirked to herself.
Since Liu Linger wouldn't act, she would.
She secretly saved Su Chen's number and, while Liu Linger wasn't looking, sent a series of flirtatious messages.
"Mr. Su, we've arrived."
The driver, Old Xu, parked the Nomadisen in a quiet lot on the outskirts of the city.
"Mr. Xu, I'd like to hire you as my driver for the next month. I'll pay you 20,000 yuan. Are you interested?"
Old Xu's eyes lit up. Compared to his usual monthly income, this was a massive offer.
"Absolutely, sir! It'd be an honor!"
After sealing the arrangement, Su Chen saw him off.
Just then, his phone buzzed again—this time, a text.
"Ah Chen, it's Xiao Mei. I'm really sorry about earlier. I behaved terribly, and I regret it deeply.""If you're willing to forgive me—and maybe get back with Linger—I'd do anything to make it up to you."
Attached were a few sultry selfies: short skirt, black stockings, full glam makeup.
Clearly trying to seduce him.
Su Chen sneered.
So that's your game now, huh?
He was about to delete the messages and block her number—but then paused.
No… not yet. There's a better way to get revenge.
