Noah thought about all of the achievements made so far. Many of them were given to him by The Cheater's Hall and every time he saw such an achievement, he wondered even more what this organization was. They had the power to freely hand billions of coins to players who had just started. Based on the prices in The Shop, Coins obviously weren't meant to be a problem for the top players but it still felt strange to him. And just like the games where he cheated – by either using exploits or with pure skill alone – this game was also unfair. Many players couldn't see even a small part of the game because they lacked financial power, protection or an exploit. But he was used to this reality. Many of these games had their top tier shops, locations and systems completely hidden from the average player. These smaller players couldn't even imagine how much bigger the games they played were. There was always an unbreakable wall between them and the top players. Noah knew it really well. He was once such a player – forced to find a way to pass through this unbreakable wall — just to see a lie, a lying reality. This gave him so much adrenaline, dopamine, that even though it was all a lie, the average players were dreaming of what he had, even not knowing what it is, they envied him and all of the other top players. In fact, these hidden shops, locations and systems weren't anything special, they were actually a lot worse than the ones provided to the general audience but that was what the game companies intended to create – this gap between players, this stupid wall. If you somehow managed to pass it, you won't ever want to return back, you will love weaker players wanting what you have, not even being able to grasp how stupid this thing actually was. The tough and rough gaming reality.
While Noah thought all of that, Brody didn't stop talking, asking questions, and being excited. Noah replied mostly with short, generic answers.
"Brody, how much do you know about these tower islands?"
He couldn't mention the elite tower islands. The message intentionally mentioned that the information was confidential. Now that he had received Myth-grade achievements, many higher beings would look at him and be weary of him. Just like in the games, these elite tower islands weren't meant for the average player. These small players were supposed to play the open world of the game, the 'free' version, they were behind the wall. In this game, he still hadn't passed it. The message sure was cryptic but every natural cheater would get to the same conclusion – this was a test from the organization to them – to see if they are true cheaters. A true cheater wouldn't play with the generic audience that long. The real cheater will exploit the cheat to its core potential and break the wall as fast as possible. He was excited.
"I don't know that much actually. The Supervisor never told me all there is to know. I just know I have my Life Quest and in the end that's what my main objective is."
By now, Noah was sure about something. This Supervisor didn't like him. And he was almost fully sure that the life quest Brody had received had something to do with him. Why else would the other members continue to the first island and Brody will randomly return exactly to where Noah's home was. It didn't make sense. He was purposely sent there to find Noah and get him to join the team.
"Anyway, now we really have to do something about this city. The companies are about to stop working, many rich entities are starting to brawl, even a rebellion is being formed, while we are speaking. The city's destruction is just around the corner."
1 week passed.
Noah's plan had gone perfect.
Instead of calming the population, Noah broadcasted a signal across the city in which he exposed secret contracts, tax frauds, and manipulation by rich players. He leaked private data of the top 1% to the public. and showed the citizens the real shop interface and the exact coin values their lives are worth to the upper class. This broke down the illusion of a fair world, throwing both the rich and rebels into disarray.
He didn't stop the rebellion, not at all. In fact, he guided it through misinformation. He sent fake orders to rebel leaders, making them unknowingly eliminate corrupt officials Noah marked, leaked blueprint locations for weapon caches he had already rigged with explosives and high class gears he was now capable of "purchasing". He trapped rich mansions with fake evacuation alerts, luring their bodyguards away from their posts. Chaos became a smokescreen for surgical restructuring. Every player who held a contract became part of a massive, system-wide coin siphon that now benefitted only Noah.
He created a new project, called Shadow City – a layered, invisible city, accessible only to players with negative coin balance and ones who broke the contracts they had with the corrupt hierarchy. They received secret quests and bounties which helped them get coins fast. This all was a dream come true both for them and for Noah himself. The transfers he made returned themselves to his effective balance.
Behind the scenes, he forced a popular rebel into leadership. He faked the democracy which the citizens of this modern city dreamed about. Even in his own world, there was not such a thing as democracy, just like how it was in games – the average player couldn't have voting power. The words of such insignificant figures meant nothing to the one who created the system. The old financial system was destroyed and a new one had started to appear. The leaders of Blade Team of [The Owl] had hidden themselves really well. Noah's team members still couldn't find them no matter how much they looked for them.
Now, this city was his own corrupted playground which was seen as an amazing, trustworthy, democratic city by the normal citizens.
Noah had obtained many items and even more coins were flowing to him. He formed his own Shadow Team and gave it different quests – especially to find the players from the Blade Team of [The Owl].
Meanwhile, on the second tower island things had finally started to stabilize. President Monroe made it out alive even though his physical body was destroyed almost completely. He had to spend millions for Rank tier: S Healer to start working on regenerating his physical body. The financial damage Noah had inflicted was severe. The spirits had taken control over the citizens of the island and had issued a sentence against President Monroe. He was a corrupt official but his power and authority were solid. He had made the citizens to believe in what they can see and touch – coins. And he held, possessed these coins. He had made them forget the spiritual teachings of the previous generations because this wasn't something a normal citizen was capable of reaching.
He issued verification procedures at this entity which destroyed the illusion of balance he had made over so many years, all of which failed. [Coin Verification Procedure cannot be made for Entity: Noah, Rejected.] This message appeared every time. He couldn't grasp what Noah had done to be able not only to have a spare amount of millions of coins but to also be able to skip Coin Verification Procedures. President Monroe, in all of his active years of leadership and even before that hadn't ever heard of the existence of such an entity. And on the first day of arrival on top of everything. He was now far too weak to request the help of beings from the intermediate islands and all beings of the lower islands already feared Noah and didn't want to approach him. The ex-leader of the second tower island – Cloudy Hill was utterly defeated.
