Seiya found himself unconsciously mimicking some of the hand gestures illustrated in the book, feeling something stir within him—not just the Origin Light that marked him as unique even among Legends, but something deeper, a connection to the Lenergy system that all Legends shared.
The final section of the chapter addressed the relationship between Lenergy and soul development:
"Beyond physical training and magical expression, Legends must also cultivate their souls through meditation, ethical action, and spiritual growth."
"A Legend with tremendous physical prowess but an underdeveloped soul will find their Sync Rate perpetually limited, as true mastery requires harmony of all aspects of being."
"This holistic approach to power distinguishes Legends from other magical races who often sacrifice physical development for magical potency or vice versa."
"A Legend's path is one of complete integration—becoming the living embodiment of balance between all forces."
As Seiya finished reading the chapter, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, allowing the information to settle within him.
The dual consciousness that had been forming throughout his young life seemed to crystallize in this moment—Shin's passionate appreciation for the magic system he had once only read about in fiction merging with Seiya's innate understanding of it as his birthright.
"Scholar Kenzo," Seiya said suddenly, his voice carrying an authority that startled even himself.
"Yes, young master?" The tutor looked up from his work.
"I'd like to begin physical training immediately, in addition to my magical studies."
Kenzo's eyebrows rose in surprise. "But master Seiya, you're still very young. While your intellectual development is extraordinary, your body—"
"I'm a Legend. We do know all Legends who's age is very young still can keep up with some training so that they can be ready for what comes after the future," Seiya finished firmly.
"And I understand now that for Legends, mind and body cannot be separated in education. One without the other leads to imbalance."
The scholar studied him with newfound respect, then nodded slowly. "I shall speak with your parents."
"I believe they always intended to begin your physical training soon, but your interest in scholarly pursuits was so pronounced that they wished to nurture that first."
"The Curse of Indolence doesn't wait for convenient timing," Seiya replied, quoting directly from the book.
"The path of a Legend is 'life as an endless training ground.'"
Kenzo stared at him for a long moment before a small smile crept across his face. "Sometimes, young master, I forget you are only three years old. Your soul seems so much older."
"But, I know this specialty came from the blood of a Legend... The indomitable spirit..."
If only you knew, thought the part of Seiya that was also Shin.
"I should like to continue reading until dinner," Seiya said, turning back to the massive tome.
"There is still much to learn."
As Scholar Kenzo returned to his own work, Seiya allowed the dual awareness in his mind to settle into a new harmony.
He was neither fully Seiya nor fully Shin anymore, but something new—a consciousness formed from the merging of a child prodigy born to greatness and a reincarnated soul who had longed for this world with his dying breath.
And as the Origin Light pulsed gently beneath his tunic, Seiya realized that his unique path—already set apart by his singular magical affinity—would be guided by knowledge and perspective that no other Legend could possibly possess.
He turned the page, eager to learn more about the world that was now undeniably his home.
...
High Priest Sadao found his wife in their private garden, tending to the rare luminous flowers that only bloomed in the presence of pure Lenergy.
Yume's hands moved with practiced grace, her silver eyes focused on the delicate blooms that responded to her touch by glowing brighter.
"Our son asked to begin a physical training today," Sadao said without preamble.
Yume looked up, a knowing smile playing at her lips. "So Scholar Kenzo informed me as well. It seems Seiya has discovered the foundations of what it means to be a Legend."
"He's only three," Sadao said, though his tone held more wonder than concern.
"And yet his mind works at a level beyond many adults," Yume replied, rising to her feet in one fluid motion.
"Did you not notice the change in him these past few weeks? It's as if something was awakening within him—something beyond even the Origin Light."
Sadao nodded slowly. "I've felt it too. Sometimes when he looks at me, I see... knowledge in his eyes. Understanding that seems impossible for a child his age."
"Perhaps it is related to the prophecy, and of course Legends keep on improving for the next bloodline. He was our bloodline, honey." Yume suggested, brushing soil from her hands.
"The texts speak of 'wisdom beyond years' as one of the signs."
"I had hoped to give him more time to simply be a child," Sadao sighed.
Yume stepped closer, placing a gentle hand on her husband's cheek. "My love, I don't think our son has ever been 'simply a child.' From the moment he was born, he has been something more—a vessel for power and purpose beyond our understanding."
"Then we shall begin his physical training," Sadao conceded.
"I will arrange for Master Hiro to assess him tomorrow."
"And I will prepare the sacred gear," Yume added.
"If he is to train as a Legend, he should have the proper tools."
As they spoke, neither noticed the small figure watching from the shadows of the garden entrance—Seiya, who had followed the sound of his parents' voices after finishing his studies for the day.
His golden eyes gleamed with interest as he listened to their conversation about his future.
Training, he thought with excitement that belonged both to the child eager to prove himself and to the reincarnated soul who had once dreamed of wielding mgolde
Finally, I can begin to test the limits of this body.
The Origin Light mark on his chest pulsed once, as if in agreement, sending a subtle wave of warmth through his small frame.
Seiya placed his hand over it, feeling the steady rhythm that had become as familiar as his own heartbeat.
Two souls. One body. Extraordinary power. And now, a clear path forward.
Seiya smiled to himself as he slipped away before his parents could notice him. Tomorrow would mark the beginning of a new chapter in his life—the true awakening of his potential as both Seiya of the Satori family and Shiratori Shin's reborn.
And he could hardly wait.
