As they approached, Zed saw that it was an old abandoned school, its walls scarred and battered. But it was secure, and the group welcomed the chance to rest.
Inside, they found a makeshift infirmary, where the wounded soldiers were tended to. Cain's expression softened as he watched his men receive care.
"We'll regroup here," Cain said, his voice firm. "Plan our next move. We've got to take back this city, drive out those Abominations."
Sylvia's gaze met Zed's, a spark of determination in her eyes. "We're with you, Lieutenant. We'll fight alongside you."
As the group settled in for the night, Zed couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. He glanced around, but saw nothing out of the ordinary.
Still, the sense persisted.
Suddenly, a faint scratching noise echoed through the corridors, followed by an unearthly growl.
"What was that?" one of the soldiers whispered, his eyes wide with fear.
Zed's wind control picked up the sound, and he knew they were not alone in the school...
