Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Famous Across the Academy! Material Compatibility in Synthesis!

After finishing his preparations, Shūyū finally stepped out of his room.

He didn't attempt any more synthesis—for now, the remaining materials just didn't match up.

Because when it came to synthesis…

Sure, combining 10 of the same material guaranteed a 100% success rate. But if the materials themselves weren't compatible?

You were just wasting precious resources.

Take for example—his own theory:

If you combined materials like Senju Bloodline, Uzumaki Bloodline, Uchiha Bloodline, Hyuga Bloodline, or Kaguya Bloodline—all descendants of the Ōtsutsuki lineage—there was a high chance they could be fused into something like a "Ōtsutsuki Bloodline".

Makes sense, right?

But then imagine combining Substitution Jutsu with Transformation Jutsu.

What would that give you?

A substitution dummy… that transforms into someone else?

That's completely useless!

A jutsu like that wouldn't have any practical combat value. At best, it would look flashy. At worst—it was just a joke.

And Shūyū wasn't here to waste materials on junk.

That's why he stopped—for now.

Those materials just didn't match.

He also had another reason.

He was running low.

Especially for high-grade materials.

Like the ones he'd been saving to attempt the synthesis of [Nine-Tails Chakra Mode].

So far, he had the following on hand:

[Nine-Tails Chakra (Black)]

[Yellow Flash (Blue)]

[Genin Headband (Green)]

[Senju Physique (Blue)]

[Uzumaki Bloodline (Blue)]

Honestly, it was starting to look suspiciously like the component list for a future Naruto cosplay kit.

He was just missing a few more pieces.

But once he had enough compatible materials, and reached a 100% synthesis rate, he planned to go for it.

He wouldn't risk a two-piece gamble when the stakes were this high.

That Black-ranked Nine-Tails Chakra was a core treasure. It had taken him weeks of grinding on Kushina just to get all the fragments. No way was he tossing it into a half-baked fusion attempt.

Even if he could gamble for a rare Red-grade item…

No.

He wasn't that greedy.

If the result of a full synthesis gave him a Black-grade item? That would already be an overwhelming win.

He'd be satisfied with that.

The next few days passed quickly.

But even in such a short time, Shūyū's actions had already shaken the entire Ninja Academy.

After all—he had solo-challenged three whole classes from his same year and flattened all of them.

Word spread like wildfire.

Upperclassmen from Year Two all the way to Year Six were buzzing about it.

Some said:

"He beat them all in a single recess."

Others countered:

"Not even a full break! He finished them in half the time!"

Then came the truly exaggerated takes:

"Nah, it was three minutes. He crushed a class per minute."

Shūyū could only roll his eyes at the rumors.

What was next?

"He took down a class per second"?

The nonsense practically made his head hurt.

So this was how rumors were born…

"Shūyū, you're like… super famous now!"Kushina said, starry-eyed with admiration.

She was clearly impressed.

He was… less thrilled.

Shūyū sighed, brushing his hair back with an annoyed grunt.

"Great. Just what I wanted. Fame."

He didn't need attention. He didn't care about admiration or applause.

All he wanted… was more material drops.

But now? His growing reputation might backfire.

With this many people talking about him, future opponents might just refuse to fight. Or worse—surrender before it even began.

That would be awful.

No combat = no drop = no power-up.

And that was unacceptable.

"I just hope the upperclassmen think all of this is exaggerated… that I'm nothing special,"Shūyū prayed silently.

Due to the scolding he'd taken from his homeroom teacher, Ishiki Mori, he couldn't afford to stir up trouble again too soon.

So he planned to lie low for a bit.

He'd originally meant to wait a full month before hitting the Year Two classes… but now?

He'd cut that in half.

Two more weeks.

Then he'd pay those upperclassmen a visit—and make them very generous donors to his material grind.

Little did he know…

While he was scheming his next raid, someone else was training like a man possessed.

Namikaze Minato.

Ever since his defeat, he'd been pushing himself to the brink under the watchful eye of his teacher—Jiraiya.

So much so that Jiraiya started wondering…

"Damn kid… are you sure this is about pride and not some kind of vendetta?"

But the toad sage didn't really care why his student was so fired up.

As long as he kept grinding like this—

"Beating that cocky little Shūyū… is only a matter of time!"

Next Time:Will Shūyū's gamble on materials finally pay off? Will Minato catch up before the next spar? And what other hidden combinations await in the deep well of synthesis?

Stay tuned.
