Chapter 30 - Gatekeepers

In this world, power wasn't judged by the rank of one's class alone.

Sure, classes determined what path a person walked. They could be a mage, swordsman, cleric, assassin, or something else entirely. But it was 'Tiers' that truly defined one's standing.

A Tier was more than just a title. It was a reflection of one's experience and mastery of their class and skills. It wasn't something you could just fake or achieve without hard work, instead it was something you earned.

Tiers were divided by thresholds. To rise in tiers, you needed to reach a specific level and breakthrough. For example, for a tier 1 to advance to two, you had to max out at Level 25 to breakthrough. To get to tier 3, you had to max out tier 2 at Level 50, to get to tier 4 from 3, you have to be at level 75 and so on. But after going through the breakthrough on the third tier, the difference in strength became painfully obvious.
