Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 - We're Just 'Sparring'

Akira leaned on his desk in his room, hand pressed against a cheek in boredom, staring out the window. The scenery wasn't anything to admire, just a horde of children playing 'ninja' and the natural wildlife.

A leaf fell from a tree out the open window, a shade of coral red. Then, more and more leaves fell as the chilly morning breeze gently rustled the branches. Shades of persimmon, cinnamon and dark amber cascaded down in a twirling motion, like the vivid strokes of a paintbrush on the canvas of nature, marking the start of the harvest season.

"It's autumn already? One more month to the war..." he murmured, deep in thought until the image of a blonde-haired girl appeared in his mind.

A mischievous smirk appeared on his usually impassive face.

"Hehe, let's go pay little Tsuna a visit~!"

.

.

.

Elsewhere, Tsunade sneezed.

"You should take better care of yourself. It's chilly out here, so you'll catch a cold easily," Orochimaru observed, his voice sounding more factual than concerned.

"Or maybe someone's talking about me?"

And then, suddenly, a mysterious force launched itself onto the unsuspecting Tsunade, allowing both of them to crash into the ground.

Both her and Orochimaru were about to draw their kunai and fight before they realised who it was.

"You idiot! Why would you jump on me like that?!" Tsunade growled, pulling back a fist for one of her devastating punches, which Akira sidestepped effortlessly.

"It's payback for last time. I swear, you need to lose some weight; I felt one of my bones crack!" Akira teased back, sticking out his tongue.

"Shut up! Has okaa-san never taught you to not mention a lady's weight?"

Tsunade, now even more furious, started throwing a few more punches like a madman.

"Yes, but right now, you seem more like a beast than a woman,"

That was a wrong answer.

The original fight that was just a daily occurrence became something resembling more of a death match than anything.

"Should I step in or...?" Orochimaru asked himself, blinking with a blank expression as if nothing had happened.

After a little mental debate, he ultimately decided to just watch the match, less he get caught in the middle and sent to the hospital's emergency room.

Akira had a growing smile on his face, while Tsunade was soon enjoying the fight as well. Despite their young age, they haven't had a good fight in a long time, so this was a good chance to stretch their muscles a bit.

He read Tsunade's moves before she even thought of it, sort of like the Uchiha's Sharingan, but based on his pure talent instead of the actual bloodline limit.

It wasn't really that hard, actually. While her punches might be devastating once landed, that was only if they touched flesh. Her signature chakra-enhanced abilities were just a more advanced way of trading precision and speed for brute power.

Based on this, any competent shinobi above jonin level could foresee her moves ahead of time. The question is, can you avoid the aftereffects?

Chakra-enhanced punches were so powerful that even if you avoided taking the brunt of the attack, the shockwaves or destruction it may cause will make you lose your balance at the least.

But Akira wasn't just a normal jonin. He could avoid the attacks, as well as deal with the aftereffect.

Seeing that her usual tactics weren't working, she switched to another style.

Tsunade started using medical ninjutsu.

Medical ninjutsu was shown to be fatal when used in battle, as displayed by Kabuto, who was said to be on par with, or even stronger than Kakashi.

And currently, Tsunade wasn't just a average iryonin, already, she was showing signs of the great medical kunoichi she would be known to many across the lands.

Chakra scalpels formed on her hands, except, these blades were glowing a deathly black, not the usual blue.

This jutsu was the 'Triple Unity of Death' used by Kabuto, only shown in the game. It seemed most of Kabuto's ninjutsu, whether in the manga, anime, or any of the games were mostly Tsunade's early creations.

Using this fatal iryoninjutsu seemed a little overkill, but Tsunade and Akira both had been itching for a challenge for so long.

Akira now smiled openly, a manic grin that seemed completely out of place.

When Tsunade closed in with her 'Triple Unity of Death' ready to strike, he immediately blocked her scalpels with his own, these glowing a faint red; another variation of the original jutsu.

It was still a unnamed jutsu, having being just recently created.

Swift strikes which were parried by one another followed suit, and while their hands moved with surgical precision, they weren't just standing still.

Akira used his abnormal flexibility to land some flying kicks, while Tsunade grappled with him like a sumo wrestler.

At the end of the day, Akira still fell short to her in terms of medical ninjutsu, so he switched tactics. It was now time for fuuinjutsu.

As soon as the two broke free from the tight and repetitive battle, he put his two free hands up in a 'ram' seal once again.

While he did have several other techniques that were deadly and fatal, this was just a friendly spar with his sister, and this was his most practiced and efficient technique.

Tsunade, now binded in invisible chains by Akira, tried to break the jutsu but could only barely move her hands with sheer willpower.

Gritting her teeth with the amount of force she had to exert just to lift her hands, Tsunade tried to break it by using one of the techniques Mito had taught her.

During this time, Akira did not attack because in order to hold the jutsu against someone as strong as her needed him to be completely still. Once mastered though, he wouldn't need this hindrance, and could bind someone like the five Kage, as long as he had sufficient strength, of course.

Unfortunately for Tsunade, she did not practice the sealing arts nearly as much as Akira did, so it would take her a longer time.

Akira could bind her for half a second until the effects wore off if he moved, but the variable wasn't his speed, it was whether Tsunade could break free during this period.

Not long after the thought came to mind, he took a deep breath and shot off like a bullet.

A kunai was pressed against her neck, but she was already gone.

He dodged a kick aimed high at his face, before turning his head to avoid another strike. Retaliating with a barrage of offenses of his own, the two took turns defending and attacking. Soon, both were covered with dust and dirt accumulated from being sent crashing into the ground by each other.

By now, Orochimaru was ready to stop the fight. Had they gone on any longer, their bodies might as well just give up mid-attack.

"Seriously, Akira, Tsunade, what was that? Either one of you could have gotten seriously hurt if any of those landed properly."

He scolded the two twins who were healing themselves, even though their wounds were practically non-existent.

"Oh that?"

Akira grinned, laughing it off, with the same big smile as always.

"We were just sparring."

Tsunade finished his sentence the same time both their cuts were healed.
