Unlike what he would usually do, Max put all of his points in Mana because his speed was so high from [Plunder] and [Enhanced Speed] that he could escape any situation without spending on endurance.

'At least my speed and agility outclassed most rogues on my level, even if I didn't have enough Mana.'

At this point, Max couldn't gain anything by staying in the level 1 zone.

The Rabbits that used to give him 10 Exp started giving him a measly 2.5 since he reached level 3, making the difficulty of levelling up higher.

Max knew that he couldn't kill every monster, so he decided to go to the level 4 zone and come back here to cap his Attribute Points later.

However, Max wished to finish killing 100 rabbits before he left, so he started hunting with more vigour.

Max hadn't been able to plunder anything except for [Swift Dash] anymore, but that didn't deter him.

Max even used his Mana potion after the 88th monster, not bothering to wait for the natural regeneration.

Finally, Max shot his fireball towards his 100th Rabbit and immediately heard a notification.

[Congratulations on killing a One-Horned Rabbit]

[Congratulations on killing 100 One-Horned Rabbits consecutively]

[You have received the title - Rabbit Hunter]

[Level 5 Mini-boss One-Horned Rabbit Boss is now looking for you]

"Wh-what the heck."

'I only killed all of those Rabbits because I wanted to end it with a round number. There's no way I would have done it if I knew this would be the result.'

Max calmed himself down. He knew the chances of surviving were slim so he decided to check his new title first.

[Rabbit Hunter]

[Given to someone once they kill 100 rabbits consecutively on their own.]

[Title Effect:]

[Adds mark of Rabbits on user]

[+2 on Agility]

[Mark of Rabbits]

[Effect:]

[Gives a tracker to the One Horned Rabbit Boss towards user until either one of you is killed.

All One-Horned Rabbits will be wary of you and avoid you if possible.

If the user kills, rewards are doubled, but if the user dies, penalties are doubled.]

'This Title does almost nothing for me except force me into a fight with the Rabbit Boss. I couldn't even run away anymore.

At least I have a bit of time until it comes. I'll make sure I get ready for the fight.'

After finding out that running would be fruitless, Max decided to go back to the village for the first time since leaving and buy some Mana Potions.

After reaching the Village, Max immediately went to the village shop and bought as many Mana Potions as he could.

Each Mana Potion was 20 copper and only gave 30 Mana with a cooldown of 10 seconds.

"I have 430 copper, how many MP potions can I buy?"

The Store Owner responded with, "You could usually buy 20, but I'll throw in 3 extra for the 430"

"Come on, I'm making such a big purchase, give me 30."

"I'll compromise at 25, take it or leave it."

"Deal"

To be honest, Max wasn't even expecting to get any extra; he just tried haggling on a whim and was extremely surprised when it worked. Of course, he didn't show it on his face.

Max knew it wouldn't be long until the Rabbit Boss came to him, so he decided to go to the forest, lest anyone take advantage of him when he would be vulnerable after the fight, even if he survived.

He went deep into the rabbit forest, a place no one would expect a level 3 to be and waited until it showed up, making sure to focus and pick up any signs of it coming.

Suddenly, Max heard a noise come from his right.

He immediately turned and got his fireball ready, along with getting ready to run.

He saw a massive One-Horned Rabbit head straight for him and realised that the Boss was here.

He looked at the Mini-boss's status first, trying to get some knowledge on what he was up against.

[One-Horned Rabbit Boss]

[Talent:] Enhanced Speed (E)

[Health Points:] 150

[Mana Points:] 150

[Stamina:] 150

[Speed:] 50

[Attributes:]

Vitality - 15

Strength - 15

Agility - 25

Endurance - 15

Intelligence - 15

Perception - 10

[Skills:] Swift Dash - Level 5 - Increases speed by 100% of agility for 3 seconds - Consumes 30 mana - 10 second cooldown

Max almost couldn't believe what he was seeing.

A level 5 monster would be a lot for him anyway, and the system was forcing him to fight a mini-boss with these stats.

Max immediately sent the fireball he had prepared and ran away.

He didn't use [Swift Dash] yet as he knew that it would be more vital later on in the battle.

-63

The One-Horned Rabbit Boss got hit with the fireball and let out a large guttural roar, or at least the rabbit's attempt at one, sounding more like a loud squeak than a roar.

It immediately used [Swift Dash], charging towards Max, however, Max also used [Swift Dash] at that exact moment, making sure that the Rabbit could never catch up to him, yet having the ability to do damage.

Max let out another fireball, hoping to finish his battle with just 2 more shots, yet the Rabbit dodged his attack and saw an opening.

It launched itself at Max, and while he managed to evade most of its attack, he still got dealt some harm.

-20

Max couldn't believe it, an attack that barely hit him managed to deal out a fifth of his HP.

Max resolved to be more careful and started running again.

The chase continued, with Max running around and sending fireballs, with the rabbit dodging them while continuing to chase him.

Max had already swallowed 5 Mana Potions and decided that he would be the one to lose if this continued.

He determined himself to take a gamble, and instead of running away, Max activated Swift Dash and ran towards the Rabbit.

The Rabbit was surprised and flinched at the sight of Max coming towards him instead of running away like he was doing before.

This slight gap gave Max all he needed to pull his plan off.

He swung his staff and instead of hitting the Rabbit with it, he shot a fireball towards it at point-blank range, causing major damage.

-75

The impact flung both of them backwards, increasing the distance between them.

The Rabbit was now at 10 HP, and any attack would finish it off; however, before he managed to kill it, he heard a large roar from it.

Not a fake one, but a terrifying real-life roar.

[One-Horned Rabbit Boss's HP has gone lower than 20%]

[Berserk Mode activated]

[All stats temporarily doubled]

Max was dumbfounded.

It was almost like the game was trying to kill him.

Max knew that one hit from the Rabbit would mean death for him, however, one hit to the Rabbit would mean death for it too.

It was an all-or-nothing play, with Max holding no advantages anymore, and the two beings within 10 metres of each other.

Max swung his staff towards the Rabbit, while the Rabbit leapt towards him too.

They attacked each other at the same time, and no one knew who won.

-70

Max suddenly heard a sound from the System.

[Congratulations on killing the Rabbit Boss]

Max let out a small smile before everything turned black.
