That…was the best sleep I've ever had. Yawning, I dragged my tired body of my bed. I took a sniff of my armpit and I nearly choked on my saliva!
It smells like shit in there!
Anyways, I'm going to take a bath and nothing is going to stop me.
Ding!
Well...except a text massage from my bestie. Plopping back on my bed, I grabbed my phone and opened the message.
Emily💗: You, me, at my house tonight.
Her tone left no room for argument.
Me: what about your parents??
Emily💗: They're currently not in town, they called to inform me that they won't be able to come home tonight:).
I could imagine her grinning foolishly already.
Me: Oh okay, I'll be there in 30. I just need to freshen up.
Emily💗: Be fast dummy, or else…
I wonder how I became friends with such an airhead. Welp, I guess it's too late to complain now, the deed has already been done.
I glanced at my phone to check the time, my heart sinking. 7:10 PM, I spent 30 fucking minutes spacing out! I need to get ready as soon as possible, Emily is waiting for me at her place, and our sleepover was supposed to start 10 minutes ago! I had promised her I'd be there at 7:00 AM and I'm yet to get ready.
*********
Crap, I'm running late.
I hastily grabbed my duffel bag, shoving in my favorite PJs ( erm..the only one I have actually), toiletries, and phone charger. My hair is still damp from the shower, but I don't have time to dry it. I tossed my jacket over my shoulder and made a beeline for the door almost tripping over the stair in the process.
As I locked up in a hurry, I checked my phone again. 7:40 PM. I'm forty minutes late! I took off in a sprint, my sneakers pounding the pavement.
The evening air was crisp and cool, carrying the scent of blooming flowers. I loved spring nights like this, if I didn't have to rush to Emily's, I would slow down the enjoy the sight of the sun setting and casting an orange glow over everything.
I turned onto Emily's street, and her house slowly came into view. The porch lights were on, and I could see her waiting by the window, glaring at me.
I picked up speed, my bag bouncing against my back. "Sorry, Emily!" I yelled, not slowing down.
She grunted and opened the door, letting me in. "You're only forty minutes late. That's a new record." She had her usual scowl plastered on her round face.
I grinned, dropping my bag on the floor and reached out for a hug. "Hey, I'm improving."
We hugged, and she led me to the living room, where a movie was already playing on her laptop.
"Popcorn's ready." Emily said, handing me a bowl.
I dug in, feeling the stress of the day melt away. Sleepovers with Emily are always good-
"Ivyyyyyyy, you have to leave now! My dad just called me to tell me that they'll be home in 20 minutes!" She was already packing my stuff into my bag.
"Calm down." I tried to stop her, she stopped to glare at me.
"Okay, hurry up then. We can't let them meet me here."
We were finally done stuffing my things into my bag.
"I'm so sorry our plans were ruined, I'll make it up to you okay?" She said as she embraced me in a tight hug.
"It's fine Emily, bye. I'll see you tomorrow." I was already at her door.
"Yeah, right. I love you!" She screamed after me as I ran down her street.
"I love you too! Muah!" I was already moving at full speed by this time.
I'm so glad her parents called to inform her, it would've been so awkward to be around them after what happened the last time. I mean no parent would want to see someone that forced their daughter to go to a club with her, sweet old times. Even though we were scolded, I'd do it over and over again if I had the chance.
Slowing down as I could already see my house in sight, I suddenly bumped into someone, or he bumped into me...intentionally.
"Ouch." I winced and rubbed the sore spot. I looked up and saw a huge man standing in front of me. How come I didn't see him coming?
I laughed nervously. "Sorry about that, I wasn't really looking. You may pass and I'll just keep walking." I stepped aside to make way for him.
A shiver ran down my spine when the man didn't walk away, instead he took a step closer to me.
"Are you okay?" His voice was heavily accented.
"Yeah, but you're invading my personal space so please back off!" I screeched and tried to push him away but apparently, my strength was compared to his. Instead, it caused him to another step closer to me.
"I like your eyes, they're deep brown." He spoke again.
I should've tried to get away from him at this point but a small part of me refused to back down and see what he would do. Foolish me.
Blood drained from my face when he took my wrist in a tight grip.
My mind screamed danger, danger, DANGER!!!
"Don't touch me!" I swatted his hand and his other hand caught my wrist.
Then I started screaming. "Help meeeee! HELP! HE'S TRYING TO-" He now had both of my wrists clamped in one of his large hands and covered my mouth with the other. He had a hood over his head but that didn't cover the large scar that ran down his chin or the sinister smile plastered on his face, I couldn't make out more of his features other than that.
My survival instincts took over and I kicked him between his legs. That should be enough to make him lose his grip on me.
Í was about to pick my pace when he suddenly yanked my hair towards himself and pushed me to the ground, hard!
Tears were already spilling out of my eyes.
"You're going to make a good pet." He declared with confidence as he picked up my duffel bag and dragged me by leg.
"P-please, somebody help!" My voice was already reduced to a squeak at this point with snot running down my nose but I couldn't care less. I begged as I tried to gree myself from his tight grip and felt the back of my head getting rubbed against the rough concrete floor. I kept trashing around and tried to hold on to something to prevent him from dragging me further. My clothes were already ruined and there scratches on my back and elbows.
Suddenly, he pulled me up harshly leaving bruises on my arm and pushed me towards a black van.
I was already trembling and crying in fear but when I saw another buff man towering over me, I knew it was over!
Would my parents even notice my absence?
Would they even care?
Would Mindy miss me? I think she would, I'm her favourite prey afterall.
My poor grandma, she'd be so lonely without me.
Ohh wait, she died last year.
Emily!
I felt another batch of tears brewing in my eyes.
She would surely blame herself for sending me out her house in the middle of the night.
The man in front of me gave me another sinister smile just like the man who dragged me here.
Goodbye world!
I opened my mouth to scream once again but it came out as a muffled cry when the man behind me covered my mouth with a smelly handkerchief, ewww. I tried to fight his grip on me and pushed his hand away.
I suddenly felt my body going limp, my breathing becoming slower and labored and black dots started to blot my vision as I finally fell down to the hard concrete floor, hitting my head in the process.
The last thing I saw was the man giving me another one of his sinister smiles...
