Funeral and Promises
**Arin's POV**
The ground burst beneath my feet.
I screamed and jumped backward as silver light shot up from the ground like a geyser. All around me, pack members scattered as more beams of light burst from random spots across the funeral ground.
"What's happening?" someone yelled.
Elder Mava's eyes went wide with fear. "It's starting," she whispered. "The seal is cracking."
The silver light was coming from me. I could feel it pouring out of my body like water through a broken dam. Every time my feelings spiked - which was constantly during Alpha Vaughn's funeral - another beam of power shot into the ground.
"Make it stop!" I cried, but I didn't know how.
Kael stepped toward me, his new Alpha power wrapping around me like a warm blanket. "It's okay, Arin. We're here."
