Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: War in the Shadows

The moment Kieran lunged, Damien was ready.

Their bodies collided with a force that cracked the very foundation beneath them. Magic sizzled in the air, the clash of power sending shockwaves through the room.

Selene barely had time to react before she was thrown back by the sheer energy of their fight. The chains binding her rattled, but she didn't care—her focus was on Kieran.

He moved like a storm, relentless, brutal. His fists connected with Damien's ribs, a sickening crunch echoing through the chamber. But Damien barely flinched.

Instead, he grinned.

"Still reckless, I see." Damien's voice was dark amusement as he twisted, shoving Kieran back with an invisible force.

Kieran skidded but didn't fall. His chest heaved, his muscles coiled, his eyes glowing with an unearthly fury.

"I don't need to be careful to kill you," Kieran snarled.

Damien's smirk remained, but something flickered in his gaze.

Good. Let him see it.

Let him see that Kieran wasn't here to fight for sport.

He was here to end him.

Selene struggled against her restraints, her pulse hammering as she watched the two most dangerous men in her life tear each other apart.

She had known this fight was inevitable.

But seeing it now watching Kieran push himself beyond his limits she realized something terrifying.

This wasn't just about the bond.

This was obsession.

Dark. Twisted. All-consuming.

And Kieran would burn the world to have her.

Her throat tightened.

She had spent years trying to convince herself she was nothing more than Damien's captive, that love was nothing more than a cruel illusion.

But Kieran had never accepted that.

And if he won tonight, if he killed Damien…

There would be no going back.

For either of them.

Damien wiped blood from his mouth, rolling his shoulders. "You think you can just take her?"

Kieran bared his teeth. "She was never yours."

Damien's smirk faded. "Then why does the bond still hold?"

Kieran's muscles tensed, but he didn't hesitate.

In a blur of motion, he was on Damien again, his claws tearing into flesh, his fangs bared. This time, there was no exchange of words, no taunts only raw, unfiltered violence.

Damien struck back just as fiercely, the room shattering around them. The walls cracked, shadows twisted, and the air grew thick with power.

But Kieran didn't care about the destruction.

The only thing that mattered was winning.

And he would.

Because Selene was watching.

Because she needed him.

Because no force in this world not laws, not magic, not fate would stop him from claiming what was his.

And by the time this night ended…

Damien would be dead.
