Chapter 2 - Chapter 2-Encounter

"Hey" a soft spoken voice lined with a hint of compassion awoken you.

You were startled by the gentle syllable, noticing some pressure placed on the field of Asters on the soil behind your back.

You turned around and your eyes were met with a lean male figure crouching down towards you, with large dark blue wings sprouting from his back, his eyes filled with concern as he stared at you with a tender gaze.

"You okay?" He asked.

"Who are you?" You asked, your cyan eyes shifted with curiosity but also with caution, leaning your posture slightly away from the strange figure in case of any action or move he might pull so you can have a step ahead of activating your flight or flight response, escaping like how you wanted to escape those nightmares that haunted you.

The man looked at you and observed your movements, his eyes softened and mirrored your movements, leaning away from you giving you some space for comfort and security, signalling that he is not a threat.

"I'm a fragment of your memory,a being that is supposed to be your guide. You can call me your guardian of your most inner self,I dwell here in the field of asters, the field that you would start your healing journey,"

"What's your name," I asked

"You can call me Darren, but I call myself "The Black Swan","

"My name's Giselle,"

"Giselle" He whispered, his eyes lowered in amusement, his voice gentle just like the soft patter of the rain and the tender whisper of the wind, where his loose feathers would fall off and get picked up by the light gust.

I gave a small smile,it's been a while since anyone addressed me with such gentleness

"It's good that now we can both finally encounter each other in person,Giselle,"He smiled softly, drops of rain dripping of tips of his front bangs

"Now back to the question, are you okay?" He looked at me intently, eyes demanding an honest answer to fulfill the purpose of his encounter.

"No," I replied honestly,my orbs looking away, into the muddy soil covered by crushed leaves dowsed in the remnants of the cries of the skies, symbolising the withered state of my soul.

"Why's that?" He asked, his voice lowered by a few tones dripping with concern

"Well,it's cause of many things,"I held back my tongue and breath, not wanting to utter any phrases further, fearing my thoughts would wonder more the more I murmur.

"It's alright,we'll go through this and help you address each one of them together okay?" He lowered his arms and extended his palm to me

Hesitantly,I took ahold of his soft hands, covered in the coat of the fallen rain, traversed by the scent of the earth.

He pulled me up,and lifted one of his dark plumming wings and shielded me of the rain.

I smiled as we walked closer to the doors of the forest inhabited by mist
