Chapter 44 - Rise of the New Order

At the Council Meeting

The room was tensed as it was silent.

Not a single cough, not a single shift. Just cold silence that wrapped around everyone like chains. The air was heavy, as if even breathing would shatter the atmosphere. Members of the student council sat in rows, faces neutral but shoulders stiff. Some exchanged glances, others kept their eyes locked on the grand table before them.

Then—Kael broke the silence.

"Raizen…" he said, voice low and calm, but cutting. "You challenged Kairon to a tennis match, even when I told you to stay away from him. And what's more—you lost. Pathetically."

Raizen sat at the end of the table, legs crossed, completely unfazed. He didn't flinch. Didn't blink. He slowly lifted his phone and tilted the screen to show them a still image of Kairon mid-swing—racket raised, hair flying, a glare frozen on his face. There was blood at the edge of his lip, but the intensity in his eyes made him look unstoppable.
