After i see the quest notification pop up I stop and look at it, i wonder why I didn't get the quest when I was at the guild knowing I won't get any answers I continue walking into the school. When I walk up to the reception desk I see a grizzled old man sitting there,"what do you want" he asks me "i would like to join is there any requirement to do so" I ask him after I what he says. " why would a Elf like you wanna join us it would be better if you went to one of the other two schools" he tells me " i would rather learn how to use a sword because I know what can happen when I run out of Magical power and I'm not confident in my ability to shoot a moving target with arrows."
He looks at me stunned and starts to laugh " I did not think I would ever hear that said, alright it costs ten gold to join when you pay that I'll assign a instructor to you." I pull out the gold from my inventory and hand it to him, after he takes it he looks over at a sheet of paper and says "go down to room 3 and have Melvina show you what to do" I nod at him and walk down to find the room he had mentioned, I find it and knock before entering after I do i see a older woman standing looking far more battle scared then the old man at the counter.
She looks over at me "so you are my new trainee, well go grab one of the swords from the rack over there and we will get started." She says after looking me over i look over to where she said and saw the rack of swords and I headed over and look through them, I pick them up testing their weight to get a feel of what would be right for me. When I find one that I think would be a good fit I turn around and head back over to the instructor.
When I reach her she nods "good job making sure you picked the right one for yourself, that is the first test I give to new trainees most try to use one unsuited for them." saying with a smile" now let me show you what a proper grip looks like so you don't go dropping it in the middle of battle " she stands in front of me and holds the sword out " focus on my hands so you can see what to do" she says while having both hands on the hilt of sword.
She then swings it while holding it in a firm grip that's not to tight as well as not to loose, " now it is your turn repeat it exactly as i just did" she tells me. I take up my sword and try to hold it just like she did when I swing it flys from my hand " to loose you have to grip harder than that" i hear her say I walk over and pick up my sword embarrassed by what I had done.
I return to the spot from before and try again this time i am holding on tight to the hilt and when I swing it looks very slow, " now you are gripping it to tight, think about it like it's a extension of your body not just a tool to be used" she advises me i take a deep breath and try for a third time i hold the sword in front of me and swing it downwards making sure I'm holding onto it tight enough that it won't slip out of my hands but not so tight it slows down my movements.
[Swordsmanship lvl 1 acquired ] i see a notification pop up " good, good that's better you can still improve but at least you will not cut you hands and feet off" I hear her say, after I recover from my swing i stand up straight and look at what had popped up [Swordsmanship lvl 1- gives a basic understanding of the way to use a sword] is what it says. I know that it was this that allowed me to swing properly " now let's move on to the next task " I nod and follow her over to where some training dummies are set up.
After we get there she takes a stance with one foot slightly behind the other with both of them planted firmly. She then lunges toward and strikes the dummy with massive force, she steps back and turns to look at me " this type of swing puts all the force of it onto one singular strike, now it's your turn to do this" she tells me. I walk over and stand in the same spot as she did and activated my new skill to correct my stance and lunge foward just like she did, [Power swing aquired] After I strike the dummy. She then shows me another attack that has five quick slashes this one takes me a few tries to complete but I do finally get it [Speed slash acquired] she looks at me stunned " well now I am surprised that you are learning these skills very quickly." she tells me " I am a outsider if that makes any difference. " I ask her "ah yes that would make a difference, from what I understand the outsiders learn far more quickly then most" she says looking at me with a proud look on her face.
"I am going to enjoy watching your growth from here on" she tells me "now that you've learned these two skills i think it's time to put them into practice, I want you to go into the forest and hunt 10 Fanged rabbits. You must defeat 5 with [Power swing] and five with [Speed slash] and you must defeat them yourself. You can take that sword with you to do so." She says to me

I nod at her and leave the room when I am walking past the front counter the old man calls out to me "hey you might want a scabbard for that sword there instead of carrying it and bare there" I look at him and then down at the sword wondering why I didn't think of that as well. He reaches down and throws me one "here you go, now the guards won't stop you and ask why your walking around with a sword in your hand." I nod at him slightly embarrassed by not grabbing one before leaving the room.
I leave the building and head out towards the gate that leads to the forest that I found the first Fanged rabbits it, while I'm doing that I look at the two skills I had gained from training [Power swing- deals 5×str as damage to the target when it connects, has lower accuracy] is what the first one says [Speed slash- five quick slashes does 0.5× str as damage to the target, has high accuracy] when I see this i know I will be able to use [Speed slash] alot easier against the rabbits then [Power swing].
When i reach the gate to leave i walk over to one of the guards and say "I am heading out do i need to a pass to do so" he looks at me "yes here you go the pass to leave the town, just make sure you have that with you or it costs 5 gold to enter the town again" he tells me. I put the pass into my inventory and walk out of the gate i look around the plains that surrounds the town taking it in since the last time I walked through I was in a hurry to get in the town to recover. After a couple of minutes I start walking and hope to come across one of my targets quickly, when I'm about 500 feet away from the town I see a Fanged rabbit I pull my sword out of the scabbard and get into the stance I was shown I then lunge forward and use [Power swing] to hit the rabbit killing it in a single blow.
I see in the corner of my eye that my exp shows 12/20 now, I know that I'll level up during this quest I continue looking for more rabbits. I come across two of them together and this time i use [Speed slash] to hit both of them one goes down right away and the other is wounded but not out of the fight just yet. It prepares to dash at me and I use [Power swing] to finish it off before it can bite me, I get a notification [you have leveled up] I check my stats after my level up and what is see is

I am shocked by how they had grown in just one level I know that my skill [Sarah's kindness] was strong i just didn't realize how strong it would be, knowing that my stats went up by four across the board except for luck I now know that a normal level up only gives two stat per increase. I check my quest and see that I am at 2/5 for [Power swing] and 1/5 for [Speed slash] i continue searching for more rabbits to fight so I can finish the quest. I come across another set of two rabbits and this time when I use [Speed slash] both go down with one use of the skill instead of one just barely surviving like last time.
I spend another hour looking for Fanged rabbits and have taken down 4/5 needed for the [Power swing] part of the quest and [Speed slash] is 5/5 i finally see the last one I need and prepare to use my skill once more. I get close to it and use [Power swing] and take it out, i see that i leveled up again and check my stats seeing they increased just as much as before. just as I am preparing to turn around and head back to the town I see a larger version of the Fanged rabbits coming towards me I quickly use [Analyze] on it and see.

Seeing how much health it has i realize that this must be the boss of the Fanged rabbits in the area. Since it looks like it's locked onto me i know that i can't escape from it since it is fatser than me, I quickly get into my stance and open up the fight with a [Firebolt] i wait for the best shot before firing it and see that i do hit it after that happens I see a flash in the corner of my eye saying
Quest activated [ Defeat the Elite Fanged rabbit]
Rewards- 500 Exp and title rabbit slayer
Penalty- death and unable to fight this monster again
When I see that I know that this will be a very difficult fight for me.
