Kai stands in the middle of the penthouse looking like a prince who just walked into the aftermath of a royal ball.
His eyes bounce between Lilith, who's flopped half-naked across a beanbag, and Elsuana, who's trying to hold a cup of tea and what's left of her dignity at the same time.
"I was gone for one week," Kai says, blinking slowly as he lifts a brow.
Elsuana steps up beside him. "Welcome back, big brother. How's Father?"
Kai's expression softens. "He's doing… great, actually. Shockingly great. The healers say he's almost fully recovered. He's already taking meetings again. Negotiated three trade deals before lunch yesterday."
Lilith rolls onto her side and stretches like a lazy cat. "So, the grumpy old monarch is back in business?"
