My name is Luciel, the daughter of a lowly servant from the house of Evergarden. A no body who only has the talent of swordsmanship, thats what they at least think.
"Those dumb b*tches dont know sh*t"
"Did they actually think I had a stupid talent as swordsmanship?"
I was mocking the Evergarden household as I stepped down from the carriage of that household. It was funny to me as I hid everything, even from my parents about my ability.
As I saw the massive gate of the Ercata Academy, I just couldn't believe I made it this far.
The Ercata Academy is literally placed in the center of the world Ercata. The academy has been standing for more than 2 thousand years. its even older than the elven king himself as he was one of the first students of that academy.
Ercata accepts students from 10 to 20 and hosting 5 grades per year. Every year, only 20% of students pass and move on with no injuries, that is why there are more years than intended in the grade curriculum.
As I walked at the entrance of the academy, I saw a map of it and it was huge. Even the entrance was like a dot in the map.
"I guess when they say the academy is as huge as a kingdom wasnt over exaggeration" I thought as I walked inside the academy and located the assembly.
"Im 14 right now and the household only gave me a year of scholarship. They didn't even give me any monry for other things. Kind people my ass, I've worked for 10 years there and this is all they give me?" I thought as I sat down in the middle of the room to hear the professor talk about school ethics and what knot.
There was over 3 thousand students in here but most will most likely fail the entrance exam and some may be injured and give up.
The ethics thing was more of a threat. There was plenty of rules in the academy but most can be dismissed as long as one has enough merit points from the school. But there are 3 main rules that cant be bought by merit points, 1 students must make a discovery every year for them to move on to the next grade, 2 teachers have full authority when he/her class starts, including the life and death of a student and all previous laws in the academy will be removed, and the final and most important, rule 3 one must never tarnish the name of the academy or one will die!
"Anyway the ethics thing I already know and I need to find a way to get food cuz this place doesn't give sh*t to students. Heh, those rich ass Evergarden children will face a lot of trouble here." I grumbled as the professor was done talking and I finally noticed who he was. He wore a suit with a black tie on which means his been teaching for about 1 to 3 years.
"I believe his name is Jester from the Forestry department" I thought as I saw the illusionary spell behind him lit up revealing a red box.
"The first test will now commence. This test will determine weither you are qualified to be here or not." The professor said as he took a 6 dice from his pocket.
"Look behind you, there are numbers and those are your number. I will now list the rules to get in the test so listen carefully. I will roll 1 dice, whatever number lands on will be how many dices I will use on this test. Every 3 minutes if the dice is not rolled then I will roll the specific number that the dice will land on." As the professor rolled the dice, it landed on 3.
"My number is 35, how would my test even work now? Does he throw the dice once more?" I thought as I heard students murmur among themselves on what to do.
"The dice landed on 3 so, I will only be using three dices for this test. So the only available numbers are 3 to 18. The rest are eliminated" Professor Jester said as I and the rest of the students was shocked upon the sudden news.
"What the hell? How am I supposed to get in? Theres over 3 thousand students here across the world yet only 16 pass? And thats considering they all pass the test. Whats happening right now?" I thought as students started to murmur among themselves and shouted in unison how this was fair.
The professor just ignored them as students started to scream at him and even cry. There was of course those who just gave up and stayed silent while some started to think what to do next.
I started to look around my surroundings and realized I was in the middle and the number was 35. Which means the numbers were mixed.
I looked at a chair two rows behind me and the number 35 was there as well. "It means some numbers must have been repeated. There are only 36 numbers in 6 dices which means out of 3 thousand chairs a single number will repeat at least 84 times and since 3 to 16 only has 14 numbers, at least 200 students will pass" I thought as I quickly assessed what the most optimal move to do next.
The professor didn't even bother saying anything as a timer behind him started to tick for 30 minutes. All the people inside the room started to get nervous as the pressure in the room started to tick slowly.
"What does that timer mean? What am I supposed to do? Is this supposed to be the test? Why is no one stopping? Will they scream non stop? What the hell is the professor even thinking????" I pondered about what to do as I realized something.
"Wait, in the entire ethics thing. It was allowed to fight when tests was conducted to filter out those that are not worthy of being here, that means the teacher expects us to fight eachother to get a spot in this academy!" I thought as 3 people realized it as well.
