Lucien's POV
Seraphina had run off after messing with my head and tempting me into something unholy.
She'd played with me and teased me with her touch, her words, and the way her eyes had made me drown in them.
Then she ran away the moment I drew my eyes away from her. She was quite cunning.
I wanted to go after her and tell her that she could keep running, but she wasn't getting rid of me that easily.
But I couldn't get myself to do that.
I wasn't going to show up like some obsessed maniac and stalk her, justifying it because I had feelings for her.
She'd been through too much already, and she was carrying a lot of trauma, and if something went wrong between us, I didn't want to add more to that.
I sat in my office, thinking and worrying about things that I never cared about, and moreover, I had a lot of work to deal with…
And then there was one persistent pain in the ass who didn't know when to stop.
My phone had been ringing nonstop.
