Lucian stood atop a roof, staring across the Uchiha district where lights still glowed warmly in household windows. He clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction.
"Hmph! Fugaku really didn't believe my warning, huh? He hasn't moved any of the civilians to safety."
He was clearly annoyed. But he'd done his part—he'd warned them. If the clan's civilians got caught in the crossfire later, it wouldn't be on him.
Deciding he had time to kill, Lucian called on his system.
"System, use my two pending sign-in rewards. Let's do both at once."
[Ding! Sign-in successful. Reward obtained: Supreme Sunglasses (x1)]
[Ding! Sign-in successful. Reward obtained: 24k Gold Chain (x1)]
Lucian raised an eyebrow.
"Sunglasses and a gold chain? System, what are you trying to do—make me into some kind of underworld boss?"
Still, he decided to check what they actually did.
"System, that sunglasses thing—it's not just for show, is it?"
[Supreme Sunglasses: Blocks all perception abilities. When worn, even Byakugan cannot see your eyes.]
That actually made Lucian nod in approval.
"Alright, not bad. Could be useful for hiding the Six-Tomoe Rinnegan. Might as well keep a low profile where I can."
He then asked about the gold chain.
[24k Pure Gold Chain: Essential fashion for the dominant boss persona. Boosts intimidation and charisma. In short: looks cool.]
"…So it's basically useless."
Lucian muttered to himself, rolling his eyes. At least one of the rewards was practical.
After equipping the sunglasses, he lay back down on the roof and looked up at the sky.
The moon was full—white, bright, round.
It reminded him of something… or someone.
"…Kaguya's still sealed up in there, huh?"
The moon contained the final prison of Kaguya Otsutsuki and the remains of the massive Tenseigan. Lucian's eyes sparkled with mischief.
"I wonder... Could I just punch the moon and bust the seal open? Would brute force work against the Rabbit Goddess's cage?"
He lay there lost in thought, before his stomach grumbled.
"Huh. I'm hungry."
He looked back up at the moon, and suddenly it didn't look like a celestial object anymore—it looked like a giant, fluffy… dumpling?
"Wait. Dumplings?"
A memory flickered in his mind—Uchiha Izumi's promise to bring him dango as thanks. That, in turn, reminded him of something far more serious: in the original timeline, she died during the massacre, killed by Obito.
Even though his actions had derailed the original plotline significantly, Lucian didn't want to take chances.
"Better go pick her up just in case."
And with that, his figure vanished from the rooftop, darting through the village night—swift and silent like a shadow.
