Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Contract under the Night

Late at night, the bells of the clock tower echoed slowly in the darkness, like the call of some ancient ritual. At the edge of the sky filled with black fog, a blood moon was like a hook, coldly looking down at the earth, covering the entire Randburg in a strange red glow.

Su Yue stood in front of the broken window of the castle library, her body trembling slightly. Her fingers were still stained with blood, which belonged to her own blood, and was also caused by the seal that had just been opened from the parchment scroll called "Book of Oath".

"You shouldn't do that." Ethan's voice sounded behind her, low and suppressed anger, his face hidden in the shadows, but it seemed that it would burn with scarlet light at any time.

Su Yue turned around, but her eyes were colder than the blood moon. "You already knew it, didn't you? The blood mark was the starting point for you to bring me into this world, and the book was hidden by you."

Ethan was silent for a moment, then walked slowly closer, his black windbreaker fluttering in the night breeze. His eyes finally revealed themselves, a deep red color with the pure characteristics of the blood clan, like burning wine under the candlelight.

"You used the power of the blood clan contract." He said slowly, "That means that from now on, there is more than a simple 'covenant' between you and me - but an eternal bond."

Su Yue bit her lip and whispered, "Is this the true meaning of the Moon Blood Oath?"

Ethan stared at her, did not answer, but stretched out his hand, and touched the blood mark on her chest that looked like a moon mark with his fingertips, "This mark is not only the key to your awakening, it is the continuation of the royal bloodline will... You should not bear it."

"But it chose me." Su Yue said slowly, "I have no way out."

The air between the two seemed to solidify.

The candlelight flickered violently, and wisps of silver-white mist began to emerge in the air. A faint hum came from the depths of the castle. It was the "ballad" when the old contract of the blood clan was revived.

"You activated the mark and awakened something that was sealed." Ethan's face became heavier. He looked out the window, and a hint of murderous intent appeared between his eyebrows. "The Night Breath Society will not stand idly by. You have become their target."

Su Yue's eyes moved slightly: "The Night Breath Society... is it the heretical blood clan organization that rebelled against the royal family in the thirteenth century?"

"They have already infiltrated the entire underground circle of the old world in Western Europe." Ethan nodded, his tone low, "They believe that 'the blood moon is coming, the king's blood is reborn', and you are the one who is involved in the core of the prophecy."

"What about you?" Su Yue asked suddenly, her voice almost trembling, "Who are you, and why do you always know all this?"

Ethan was silent for a while, and finally raised his head. His face was as cold as a sculpture in the glory of the blood moon.

"I am the last heir of the royal family - the former 'Silver Blood', Ethan Nolan."

"Your blood is the key to awakening; and my blood is the gatekeeper's blade."

The air stagnated again.

Su Yue's throat tightened and she couldn't speak for a while.

——She finally understood that from the moment she was swallowed by the mysterious light and shadow in the library, this chess game of fate had already begun.

She didn't break in accidentally, but was chosen.

"So what should we do next?" she asked in a low voice.

Ethan didn't answer immediately, but took out a bronze badge from his waist. It was the "Silver Blood Seal" exclusive to the high-level oath-bearers of the blood clan, engraved with the overlapping emblem of the moon wheel and the cross sword. He slowly handed the seal to her.

"Now, make a true oath with me."

"Su Yue, are you willing to swear the same blood with me, resonate with each other's lifeblood, and share life and death?"

She stared at him, but the turmoil in her heart gradually calmed down. All the clues and struggles in the past flashed through her mind... She finally understood that this was not just a decision about her own fate, but a key to the future of the entire vampire world.

She slowly stretched out her hand and pressed the seal.

"I do."

The strange red light suddenly flashed, and the blood-stamped stone pillars of the entire Randburg trembled together, as if the entire vampire world was trembling for this contract.

Far outside England, a woman in a black robe holding a bone staff opened her eyes in a pool of blood and whispered softly: "The Moon Blood Contract has finally begun... The King's Blood will begin, and the omen is coming."

At the same time, in the underground old altar, the blood stone door that had been sealed for three hundred years also made a "click" sound, as if it was about to open.
