Chapter 24 - Four Against Fifty-Three

Vaerik stood on a hidden rocky outcrop, overlooking an open area in the valley below.

Four frost giants were throwing huge rocks, then hitting them with massive ice-rock clubs, playing happily.

"Are they playing baseball?" Vaerik quipped, but without any relaxation.

These massive creatures averaged 5.2 meters in height, their bodies covered with natural armor formed by intertwined ice crystals and rock fragments.

Just looking at their knotted muscle texture was enough to make one think of terrifying brute force.

The ice-rock giant clubs they casually swung were six meters long, and when they struck the ground, they could leave a cracked furrow.

Even more terrifying was the pale blue frost mist surrounding the frost giants, their extreme cold domain.

If ordinary people got too close, their blood circulation would slow down, and they might even be directly frozen into ice sculptures.

Fortunately, there were only four; if there had been forty, Vaerik would have had to flee with the Crimson Tide Domain overnight.

Nervous? Not really.

He had already mastered the frost giants' weaknesses and set traps in advance.

Additionally, this time he had brought most of the Crimson Tide Domain's knights and over a hundred soldiers.

Fifty-three knights against four frost giants—the advantage was ours.

"Is everything ready?" Vaerik asked quietly.

"Yes, my lord, everyone is in position," the command officer replied.

"Very good." Vaerik nodded slightly. "Proceed according to plan, let these big fellows taste the methods of our Crimson Tide Domain."

He slowly raised his right hand, five fingers together: "Action!"

The command officer waved his flag, and knights hidden in various locations acted simultaneously.

"Whoosh—!"

A signal arrow broke through the sky, its flame trailing a red path, striking the body of a frost giant.

Startled by the sudden attack, the four frost giants who had been happily playing paused, then let out deafening roars, their giant feet stomping the ground as they angrily walked toward the source of the flames.

"Separate them!" Lambert shouted.

The knights divided into four groups, harassing the giants from different directions, constantly provoking them with their lances.

Each attack precisely struck the giants' most sensitive areas—knee joints, faces, gaps between fingers, armpits...

The giants roared, swinging their ice-rock clubs to crush these insect-like enemies.

But the knights were prepared, quickly retreating, using terrain and speed to buy time, leading the giants toward separate ambush areas.

After a few minutes, the four giants were completely separated, each entering different trap zones.

"Release!"

The trap team, which had been waiting in ambush, suddenly threw heavy rope nets that had been prepared in advance.

The heavy ropes precisely entangled the giants' legs.

A giant's steps faltered as it struggled to tear free from the restraints.

Knights hidden on the flanks quickly advanced, their sharp lance tips or long swords thrusting directly at the weak joints behind the giants' knees!

Thud!

The lances penetrated their cold flesh, where the ice armor was thinnest.

Each thrust made the giants emit sky-shaking roars, painfully staggering backward.

"Retreat, change positions!"

The warriors didn't linger, quickly dispersing in different directions, giving the giants no chance to counterattack.

The giants let out painful howls, kneeling on one knee, their struggling movements immediately becoming sluggish.

On another side, soldiers in ambush suddenly threw torches, the flames licking at the giants' solid ice armor.

Soon their extreme cold aura began to waver, the surface layer of ice armor gradually cracking under the heat.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Archers seized the opportunity to shoot flaming arrows, which cut through the night directly toward the giants' faces.

Several arrows accurately hit the giants' eyes and cheeks, flames scorching their flesh.

"Roar—!!"

The giants painfully covered their faces, struggling violently.

"Knights, prepare! Targets: hearts and throats!"

"Kill!!"

The knights activated their battle energy, red energy burning on their swords and lances.

They spurred their horses forward, like red blades, fiercely thrusting toward the giants' hearts and throats!

Blood sprayed as the first giant let out a final scream, its body crashing down.

Of course, the other groups weren't all proceeding so smoothly.

A deafening roar suddenly came from one trap area!

"Roar—!!"

It was an exceptionally violent frost giant that had broken free from the rope net.

Its massive legs merely needed a slight stomp to shatter the trap-filled ground, sending debris flying.

"Bad! This trap can't hold it!"

The lead knight's expression changed, and just as he was about to command his team to re-surround, the giant had already completely lost control!

It suddenly spread its arms, roared to the sky, and the frost aura around its body surged violently!

A violent frost storm suddenly swept in all directions!

Boom—!

The gale carried countless sharp ice blades, instantly covering the entire area.

The cold wind tore the ground, throwing knights off balance unexpectedly.

"Aah!!"

Two knight apprentices were directly caught in the storm, their armor immediately covered with thick layers of ice, their bodies frozen stiff.

Then the gale swept them up, violently throwing them against a rock wall, where they lost their fighting capability.

Another formal knight had no time to react before being hit by the giant's swinging club.

He flew like a kite with cut strings for tens of meters, crashing heavily to the ground, blood pouring from his mouth.

The scene immediately fell into chaos!

But just as the frost giant was preparing to swing its club again, a red burst of battle energy suddenly cut through the blizzard, striking directly at the giant's wrist!

Splish!

The scorching sword energy tore a long wound in the giant's ice-iron muscles, dark blue blood spraying out, splashing onto the snow and quickly solidifying into ice crystals.

"Cut its legs!"

Lambert shouted angrily, his great sword raised high, wrapped in intense battle energy, pointing directly at the giant's knee!

Two elite knights followed closely, the three forming a triangular assault formation, rushing toward the giant.

"Ha—!"

Lambert's great sword struck down hard, targeting the joint behind the giant's knee!

Crack!

This sword deeply embedded in the ice armor, cutting into the tendon, making the giant's massive body shake violently, almost kneeling.

Another elite knight seized the opportunity to leap up, his sword burning with fiery battle energy, fiercely piercing the giant's ribcage!

The last knight forcefully chopped at the giant's ankle, trying to completely destroy its balance!

With all three swords falling, the intense pain enraged the giant to the extreme. It let out a sky-rending roar, wanting to swing its club again in counterattack!

"Stop it!"

Lambert roared, forcefully stomping the ground, using the momentum to leap up again.

His great sword slashed horizontally in a backhand, the blade precisely chopping at the joint of the giant's wrist!

Crack—!

The sound of breaking bone was clearly audible.

The giant's club-holding wrist suddenly loosened, and that huge ice-rock club slipped from between its fingers, crashing hard onto the ground, sending ice fragments flying everywhere!

"Now!!"

The knights behind all raised their lances, and with sky-shaking roars, all weapons simultaneously pierced the giant's vital points.

Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!

Ice-cold blood splattered, dyeing the snow red. This violent giant could no longer sustain itself. Its massive body crashed to the ground, completely losing all signs of life.
