Chapter 11 - Live Well (3)

At night, Shang Ruoyan created an account on Skynet. She modified her virtual body based on her past life. Then, she dressed as an assassin, half her face covered in a mask, and looked mysterious and unfathomable.

The system detected her age when she entered the virtual world of Skynet. In this place, you can play games, improve your strength, and earn money. Some players sell items for a living, and some offer services for other people, like hunting beasts.

The virtual world also enhances the mental power of people, and in some events, rewards like heavenly skills appear. No one knew how the virtual world was created, but some people die inside the game for mysterious reasons.

"I never thought the shops inside the game needed real money, and the rent is very expensive! I am just a poor person with unknown origins," Shang Ruoyan sighed.

She was exploring the market.

[Master, there's a task hall for gamers in the virtual world. You can earn money from completing tasks!]

Shang Ruoyan navigated the road to the task hall.

She was not expecting so many warriors to appear in the task hall. Some were doing tasks in groups, and others were alone. Shang Ruoyan did not even expect that she could smell blood from them, the kind that levels with danger.

When she checked the list, she saw one task where the player could earn many points, but no one had ever tried it. Her first thought was, something must be wrong with the level of difficulty in this task. However, she was not expecting the answer from the lobbyist lady.

The task was not taken because people refused to do it, and didn't have the time or patience to complete it. Shang Ruoyan was stunned, but she took the task without hesitation.

[Task: Inherit Blue Star's Craft and let it flourish in the Interstellar Butterfly Galaxy.]

[Task: In progress.]

"Yuebao, the task is to cook?"

[Yes, Master.]

Shang Ruoyan stared at the task card, confirming the location that was written on it. She was led to the most prosperous market in the virtual world. The task card opened a shop for her in the bustling district.

When she entered the store, there was nothing inside. The task card wanted her to use Blue Star's crafts and sell them, not only for people to appreciate the craft, but also to learn the origin of things.

"Yuebao, how did the Main Interstellar Brain think of the Blue Star? You said Earth no longer existed in this time and space after the Milky Way Galaxy and Andromeda Galaxy collided. Is it possible for the Main Interstellar Brain to save some information from galaxies far away?"

[I also don't know, Master. When the first settlers in this galaxy appeared, the Main Interstellar Brain was already developing Skynet. When the creatures wanted to seize the power of the Main Interstellar Brain, they sent several forces. But none of them succeeded in getting the power of the Main Interstellar Brain, instead, it killed all the people involved.]

Shang Ruoyan was adaptable. She remembered the rules of the task hall and Skynet. She learned that she needed to sell things she had made. If she cooked real food in the real world, it would be scanned by the optical brain, and data would be uploaded to her store. The final product would be based on the actual number of servings she prepared.

The taste would likely be a little worse compared to eating the food she made in a real setting, but the data would help mental power users absorb some of its energy. The higher the energy the food contains, the higher its commercial value, and the easier it would be for Shang Ruoyan to complete the task.

She went out of Skynet late at night.

Before sunrise, Shang Ruoyan went out of her house and rushed nonstop into the Bimu forest. She wanted to gather new ingredients. It wouldn't be enough for her to have a few spices, vegetables, and Red Zerg Crab meat.

[Master, be careful. The military has been patrolling the forest since the Lotus bloomed. The appearance of high-level beasts also alerted the government of the Bimu planet.]

"Will I be arrested as a minor wandering around?"

[Yes, Master.]

Shang Ruoyan closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her breathing suddenly changed, and her aura vanished completely. When she opened her eyes and flashed into the dark forest, the air did not even move. She climbed to the highest tree to find her target.

She fell back and landed smoothly on the ground. She rushed toward her target, sweet potatoes. When she dug them, she harvested everything and cleared the area with amazing speed. Not even the leaves were spared.

Next, she rushed to gather tomatoes, planted in the same area. She removed even the plants and transferred them inside her space. Next, she rushed to collect a few evolved wild boars sleeping in the forest. The boars did not even have time to react or make a sound, they just vanished from their positions.

Shang Ruoyan did not stop clearing the forest. Everything she saw went inside her space. She only stopped when the sun had fully risen. She did not want to be caught by the military, so she hurried home once again.

"I can only drink a nutrient solution for the day."

She sorted all the things in her space and planted those that could be grown. She also planted some things in her backyard. When she was done, she cleaned some vegetables and prepared them to be processed. In her busiest hours, she was not expecting someone to appear behind.

A sword was pointed a few centimeters from her neck. Shang Ruoyan stopped moving and stared at its tip.

"Yuebao, is the general awake?"

[Master, I was reminding you earlier, but it seemed you blocked all the noise around you.]

Shang Ruoyan sighed.

"Turn around."

The man's cold voice sounded behind her.

She turned obediently.

"Why is it you?"

"You must live well, General."
