The man sitting next to Max also looked shocked when I asked him if he was gay. Not gonna lie, the man next to Max was quite attractive—tall, muscular, and with veiny hands.
"Are you serious?" Max asked. We must have looked pretty close in the man's eyes, but we weren't that close.
"No, I'm Lilith," I replied, cracking another joke.
Max groaned in annoyance. I smirked, enjoying the sight of him being irritated.
I slowly stood up. My black uniform dress was short—really short. It was annoying, but at least it was pretty. I walked toward the man and eyed him carefully. His black hair looked fluffy, making me want to cut it and turn it into a cushion.
"Who are you?" I accused, my eyes never leaving his.
I walked back to my seat and sat next to Kira.
Why do I even care who that man is? Whoever he is, it doesn't matter to me. I'm not even part of this family.
"This is Sheldon Hassel. He's James's best friend."
"That old guy has a best friend?" I said, amused.
"Jame is only 24."
"He looks quite old," I muttered.
I smirked, mocking someone who wasn't even here.
The room fell into silence. There was something about James's best friend—something off.
"He's cursed," Kira whispered to me. It seemed like she confirmed my suspicions.
"Cursed?" I repeated, murmuring the word to myself.
James's best friend then stood up, excused himself, and left Max, Kira, and me alone.
As soon as the door closed, I turned my gaze to Kira.
"What curse?" I asked, so curious I didn't even consider changing the topic.
"It's called Famromina."
"Oh, wow, that's so helpful, as if I've ever heard of it," I said sarcastically.
"Sit down, I'll tell you the story of this curse."
I sat down on the couch where Max had been sitting, next to him and in front of Kira.
I leaned back into the seat, making myself comfortable. Max gave me a side-eye. He wasn't comfortable with me sitting like that, especially with my dress so short.
