A week has passed and the heroes were still just getting along. When duty calls, they answer. For the first time—not as individuals—but as a squad.
HERO SQUAD BASE – MISSION BRIEFING ROOM – DAY
The holographic table glowed, displaying a devastated coastal district. A monstrous sea creature writhed on the screen, its tentacles tearing through buildings like paper. The screeching screams of the creature was unpleasant to the ear.
Vilex(calm, focused):
"We've got our first mission. Lexington avenue is under attack. By a beast.Codename: Tide Maw. It is Massive, hostile, extremely dangerous," no one knows how it got to the city but it has flooded parts of the city." "Are we all ready to move."
HI-TECH (already tapping commands):
"Transport's ready. Fastest route is locked in. I can carry four."
"Tyler, and Derick I already made arrangements for your hero suit."
Larry throws nano wristwatches to them.
Tyler puts on the watch taps it and a dynamic combat suit blending storm gray, navy blue, and crackling electric blue. Glowing veins of energy line the suit, reacting to his emotions and power usage. The suit features metallic gauntlets and boots to channel and ground electricity. He smiled as the suit wore itself on him. His body flickering with thunder.
"Time to bring the storm to the beast."
Derick was first in confusion on how to operate the watch but was helped by Hi-Tech. He was in awe as the sleek black with matte finish clothing, layered with subtle armored panels over the chest, arms, and thighs. The suit has retractable claw gloves.
"Let's see what these claws can really do."
"Fancy." Jakson chuckled.
Raymond with a firm look.
"What are we waiting for people need our help."
Hi-Tech's aircraft cut through the clouds like a blade. Inside: Vilex, Frost, Sage and, Mega Panther. The silence buzzed, heavier than the engine's hum.
SAGE eyes narrowed quietly, What I Feel From That thing… it's more than just muscle. Something dark is pulsing around it."
Screams echoed through the chaos. Smoke painted the sky.
BLAZE and DARK FLAME blazed through the haze, fire coiling around them. SUPER BOLT zipped across in his whitish-silver tones suit with glowing yellow accents. The most striking feature is a large electric bolt symbol on the chest, pulsing slightly when he uses his powers. The suit is aerodynamic, resistant to high-speed friction, and channels his lightning aura as he ran through the flooding streets in a streak of yellow lightning.
SUPER BOLT (breathless),"This is way worse than the briefing made it sound."
DARK FLAME (grimly). "Our attacks must be precise."
BLAZE (focused). "Target the limbs. Make it stumble."
Moments later in the Lexington avenue street.
The squad landed with synchronized force. Citizens screamed and scattered as the ground trembled beneath them.
VILEX (issuing orders rapidly):
"Frost, Sage, Thunderstorm—handle civilian evac.
Bolt, Blaze, Dark Flame, Panther—focus on containment.
Hi-Tech—I need full visuals from the sky."
HI-TECH (through comms):
"Already deploying a scan sweep. You'll have targeting data in ten."
ABOVE TIDE MAW – LATER
The monster shrieked, its tentacles slamming into buildings. Fire barely scorched it. Lightning slowed it—just a little.
SAGE (yelling):
"It's not natural! Something's controlling it!."
Vilex called out. "Any visuals Hi-Tech"
HI-TECH (in earpiece):
"Confirmed. Unusual tech embedded above the brow ridge. That's your target!"
EXT. CITY – ROOFTOPS – CONTINUOUS
FROST raised a towering wall of ice to shield fleeing civilians. THUNDERSTORM called twin bolts of lightning to disorient the creature. SAGE chanted in ancient tongues, a glowing teleportation circle forming beneath him.
SAGE (to Vilex):
"Ready?"
VILEX (drawing an arrow):
"Always ready."
In a flash, Vilex vanished—teleported above the beast's skull.
TWANG—CRACK!
The arrow struck true. The embedded device shattered into sparks.
EXT. CITY – MOMENTS LATER
Tide Maw groaned, teetering like a wave too heavy to crash. Then, it turned—and slithered back into the sea.
The streets echoed with cheers. They saved us again the civilians said. We got heroes to help us always.
BLAZE (panting):
"First mission? That was Fun."
THUNDERSTORM (laughing):
"Not much fun like the Wukong brothers."
FROST (serious):
"This was just the start."
VILEX (quietly, watching the ocean):
"This… was just the first."
UNKNOWN LOCATION – NIGHT
A shadowed figure leaned forward, watching footage of Tide Maw's defeat. Silent. Calculating.
Abyss 9 Hero squad Base – ULTRA CITY – NIGHT
The squad returned—some limping, some quiet, all changed.
Timothy walked beside Sage, still thinking of the day's events.
Timothy:
Back there… you said it wasn't instinct. What did you sense?"
Sage (hesitant):
"It was rage… but not its own. Like a puppet being forced to dance to the music of the master. It was something ancient. Something dreadful."
Timothy nodded, eyes narrowing.
Timothy's Room – Night
A holo-call lit the room. COMMANDER LAYLA appeared, with JOHNATHAN FLICKER beside her.
COMMANDER LAYLA (stoic):
"Good work today your team really showed their worth. Now give me the full report on what happened."
VILEX:
"Tide Maw. Physically overwhelming. Controlled by Unusual tech.
Once it was destroyed, it retreated immediately."
JOHNATHAN (grim):
"Something powerful enough to control a creature like that… This wasn't random. To me it feels like a test."
VILEX (tense):
"A test?"
JOHNATHAN:
"Someone is watching. Studying us. Checking our resources.Seeing how far they can push us before we break."
COMMANDER LAYLA (unshaken):
"They should keep on pushing. We'll be ready any time for them."
The screen faded.
Timothy stared at the dark monitor.
His fist clenched.
