Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Lords of Rising Flame

The rays of dawn spilled over Dawn's Refuge, no longer the humble settlement it once was. The aura of the village shimmered faintly with divine energy—proof of its recent awakening through Arjun's Fusion Skill. Villagers moved with purpose. Militia sparred. Blacksmiths hammered with passion. Even the fields bore a strange new luster.

The System had noticed.

And now… so had the world.

[World System Announcement]

"Unknown Lord has awakened a Fusion Skill—'Beacon of Immortals.' First recorded in this Era.""The Lord's territory has reached Tier-2 Awakening Stage.""Rewards bestowed. Map visibility increased. Hostile Lords will be notified of your coordinates in 72 hours."

Arjun read the announcement with narrowed eyes. Shayra stood beside him, already in full armor, her twin blades glowing faintly from recent enhancements.

"We just became prey," she muttered.

"Or bait," Arjun replied, the glint in his eyes deadly.

Priya giggled as she skimmed her notifications. "I even got a new Hatchery interface! It lets me assign eggs to incubation chambers and enhance them."

[New Hatchery Feature: Gene Grafting Chamber – Feed unused beast corpses to strengthen unhatched eggs.]

She clutched the corrupted egg found in the dungeon tightly. "This one… it's whispering to me."

Arjun glanced at her with concern. "Can you handle it?"

"I think I can… if I don't rush it."

A crimson-skinned man stared at the world notification, his grin showing sharpened teeth. Lord Varakash, a Rank 3 Blood-Lord, laughed as he slammed a clawed hand down on his war map.

"So, a Frontier nobody dares awaken a Fusion Skill? And his coordinates get revealed in three days?" His eyes glowed blood-red.

"To all units—prepare the hounds. I want this Dawn's Refuge turned into ashes. I'll tear the flesh off that Lord's bones myself."

Behind him, dozens of monstrous humanoids howled.

Bhanu pointed to the enlarged map in the War Council Hall.

"There are six unclaimed neutral ruins within two kilometers. We need to seize them before rival Lords do."

Arjun nodded. "Deploy three platoons. Establish forward outposts at each site. I'll personally oversee the Beacon Forge construction here."

Shayra raised an eyebrow. "You're working the forge now?"

Arjun smirked. "No. But the Beacon Forge is unique—it fuses my Lord Skill's multiplier directly into weapons and structures. Only I can activate it."

The Beast Hatchery pulsed with arcane glow as Priya sat alone. Her Kirin curled nearby, watching over her silently.

The corrupted egg had begun twitching violently.

[Corrupted Beast Egg Reacting…][Entity Detected: "Wyrmspawn of Hollow Flame"][Mutagenic Evolution Available – Infuse One Beast Core or Sacrifice 100 Beast Essence]

Priya's eyes narrowed.

"I'll sacrifice essence. Let's see what you really are."

As the chamber hissed open, smoke poured out—and something long, serpentine, and shadow-scaled writhed free with an ear-piercing shriek.

[Wyrmspawn of Hollow Flame – Variant Awakened][Rarity: Mythic – Bound to Hatchery Matron: Priya][Skill: Netherflame Torrent, Burrow, Blood Tracking, Anti-Holy Pulse]

Priya staggered but held her ground. The wyrm hissed and, surprisingly, nuzzled her hand.

"You're not evil. Just… abandoned."

She smiled. "I'll name you Kaala. My little dark fire."

Arjun stood at the edge of the village, eyes fixed on the far horizon. Meera stepped up behind him, sliding her arms around his waist. Her belly had begun to swell slightly—barely noticeable, but enough.

"She kicked," Meera whispered.

He turned to her, startled. "Already?"

"Yes. She's strong… like you."

Arjun gently touched her stomach, awe in his eyes.

"I still don't know how to protect everything… but I will. Even if the world burns."

Meera rose on her toes and kissed him softly. "You already are, my Lord."

Later that night, in the quiet warmth of their chambers, they embraced again—no longer as strangers bound by survival, but as man and woman, future father and mother.
