Chapter 2 – Ero Tutorial
(Max's POV)
Max moaned and grimaced as his eyes gradually came open.
He was sluggish, having been flung away by the surge of electricity that penetrated his body.
He found himself waking up the next morning. Heck, he was lucky that he had not sustained any injuries in the course of his fall.
"My head hurts…" he purred slowly, rubbing the side of his head to provide a soothing effect to his discomfort.
[Ding!]
A digital glitch suddenly appeared above his field of vision, causing him to startle but for a moment.
"What is this?" Max muttered out of confusion.
However, just barely a second afterwards, he recognised the interface, likening it to the ones he sees on the several dating sims he had played.
[Ero Sim has been installed]
[Would you like to begin?]
[Yes / No]
"Looks like the gaming panels on the simulation games," Max further analysed what he was looking at.
"I don't remember logging into a game like this one. When did I even open an account? What's going on—ouch!"
Max rubbed his eyes, removing every ounce of sleepiness in them.
"Why am I even seeing this?"
"Is this a dream?"
"Ero Sim?"
Max sat up, the floating windows adjusting with his every movement.
"Ero Sim? What even is that?"
Max was starting to get himself as his mind was now clear enough to process what was happening to and around him.
"Yes is the clear cut answer to this starting question," he added. "Like anyone would choose No in the first place. Tch!"
Click~
[Yes]
Max made a choice and stuck with it.
[The Ero Sim is starting]
[Initiating…]
[Sim Initiation : Complete]
[Prepare yourself as you are about to undertake the journey to become the Ultimate Casanova, grasping as many women as possible]
Max stared at the screen cluelessly, unable to comprehend in one go what it just projected to him.
'Something is certainly wrong somewhe—"
Knock, Knock~
Max turned his head around, looking toward the door of his flat.
He barely had visitors—in fact, Max never had visitors except for his landlord whenever it was time to collect money for one thing or the other.
Naturally, Max assumed that was still the case but he was a tad confused that the landlord would be knocking this early.
"I thought he already agreed to give me some extension of time to be able to pay. Tch! That sly old man," Max cursed through his teeth before dragging himself up to open the door.
"I'm coming!"
******
(Miranda's POV)
Miranda sat on the couch of the sitting room, skimming through a fashion magazine and making ridiculous criticisms on what she was viewing.
Meanwhile, her father was pacing back and forth in the same room with a mobile phone glued to his ear the entire time.
"What do you mean by that!" the father barked at the person on the other end of the call, causing Miranda to lower the magazine from her face and look at him.
"I just told you that the lights suddenly went off without any warning whatsoever and we don't even use any ridiculously high power devices here."
The man hissed and paused, impatiently tapping a foot on the floor as he nodded, listening to what whoever he was talking to had to say.
"Okay. That's fine," he responded as his anger gradually quelled. "That's alright. I will do just that. Thank you."
He ended the call and hurled his phone to the nearest chair while he sat down and heaved a sigh of frustration.
"So…" Miranda began, wanting to know the outcome of the discussion, "what did they say?"
"It's just our building," her father revealed. "We are the only ones with the outage problem. Now we have to check and see if someone has done something stupid."
Miranda could see the rage in her father's eyes returning every second he had to speak about what happened.
She could only sympathise with him since she understood how frustrating such things could be.
"We will find that person and trust me when I do, they will pay."
Per her father's discussion with the personnel from the electricity company, Miranda and her father started to go to the different flats to make enquiries and also check for such high power devices that had been advised against.
Miranda took some floors and her father did the same as they aimed to sweep through the entire building.
"This is where he lives if I recall correctly," Miranda muttered as she stood at the door of Max's flat, her face telling her feeling of not wanting to be here.
Her little experience with Max earlier already made her nauseous about him and she didn't care much.
Heck, she didn't even want to make any inquiries in his flat if not for the sake of her father.
Knock, Knock~
Miranda was grumpy.
She had stood there for barely two minutes after knocking and still no response whatsoever.
Max's attitude was starting to get on her nerves, little did she know what was happening inside the flat.
'Why is he wasting my goddamn time?' she whined internally, 'Who the fuck does he think he is? I can just ask dad to evict him from here. Tch!'
Knock, Knock~
"I know you are in there!" she blasted at the door, "Open this damned door!"
Just as Miranda was about to force the door open by its handle, Max beat her to it from the other side as the metallic handle clinked, opening up to the landlord's daughter.
Miranda stepped back a step, seeing how disoriented Max looked—his hair was roughened up and he could barely keep his eyes open.
It was as if he was just waking up from sleep.
She threw her face to the side and huffed, crossing her arms over her large chest.
Max scratched the side of his hair while staring at Miranda, trying to make sense of the reason for her visit.
Miranda had never come to his place before and he has lived here for two years.
It was always her father coming whenever he wanted Max for something.
'What's she doing here?' Max thought.
At that same time, a familiar ding rang out in his head, causing his eyes to grow extra wide.
[Ding!]
