Chapter - 2
'Don't tell me…'
"Am I DEAD?"
The situation in front of him reminded him of something so very familiar. He has read about this very situation in so many stories.
The main character would die. He would open his eyes in a void of darkness, an old man with his back crunched, walking with support of a wooden cane would come.
The old man would give him a pep talk and give him outworldly powers before transmigrating him to a new world.
"That old bastard… He better give me something good,"
"Otherwise he will be the first one I fuck up good," Leo smirked as he thought to himself.
"Please don't… I have seen your thing. I am not sure if I can take it,"
A teasing, playful feminine voice suddenly rang through his ears, taking Leo by surprise. Leo looked around him trying to find the source of the voice, but there was no one around him.
"Who is there?" Leo frowned when he could not see anyone, "Am I really dead?"
"Well, technically… Yes. But also... Oops."
Leo again heard the sultry voice in his head, "What do you mean, Oops?" But this time he was shocked at the sight in front of him.
Hovering in front of him was a woman of impossible beauty. She was no normal woman, he was sure about it.
She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her skin was flawlessly white, that glowed with the divine aura.
She looked at him with those beautiful amber eyes as if she could see through his soul, his past, present and future.
Her eyes had a tinge of mischief, desire, and playfulness gleaming at him. Her lips were full, lush, and curled into a smile that can soothe and calm any heart burning with rage and anger.
The woman stood in front of him tall and wrapped in translucent veils of shimmering crimson and gold that looked like it had a mind of his own as it floated around her. The veil clung to her curves which no mortal could possess.
Her long red hair cascaded over her shoulder covering her breasts that were not covered by her veil.
Leo stared at the woman in awe, trying not to fall flat on her big breasts, "…You are not an old man with a beard."
"You seem disappointed, dear," The Goddess chuckled, "I am sorry. I know you humans read a lot of those 'Reincarnation" stories. And they are right to a certain extent… You don't think patriarchy doesn't exist here, do you?"
"Huhh… Well, I am afraid that the old pervert who was supposed to take care of this mess is on vacation. You got me instead."
Leo blinked, "And... you are?"
The goddess placed a hand on her generous hip and gave a theatrical bow, "I am Lysara, Goddess of Lust, and... mistakes, apparently."
Leo raised an eyebrow, "Wait, mistakes?"
She winced playfully, "Ah. About that. You weren't supposed to die. Your death, shall we say, is a clerical error."
"An error?" Leo's voice raised, most of it was an act, but no matter how prepared he was, it was still hard to take, "You are telling me I died because someone screwed up?"
"Precisely!" The Goddess smiled with amusement as Leo understood it one go. And he didn't seem to be losing his cool, "A minor deity in the Department of Mortal Life, Death and Transitions got your file confused with a Leo from another world who was supposed to be reaped at the exact second that thunder struck."
"You were meant to live for another 53 years, 6 months, and 14 days. It was supposed to be a respectable life, by mortal standards."
"...So I died by accident?" Leo asked.
"Yep. Think of it as a cosmic clerical error. That minor god is being chewed out as we speak."
Leo ran a hand down his face, "This is insane."
Lysara nodded solemnly, "That's one word for it."
"So what now? Do I get a redo to my life? Or is this, like you are sending me to heaven?"
She stepped closer, with a soft smile on her face such that he could smell her scent. His pulse began to rise, "Alas! Your body is burnt beyond repair, and the timeline of your world has already moved on."
"Sending you back will create complications, and the Divine Council might take a note of it."
"So what now?" Leo raised his eyebrow, "You can't accept me to stay here for eternity, do you?"
"Well, you already know one of the options you have," The Goddess looked at him with a playful smile.
"We are going to make it up to you," she said gently, "Since you weren't meant to die, and we did mess up, we are offering you transmigration."
Leo's eyes widened, "Like… another world?"
Lysara nodded, "Exactly. I will transmigrate your soul in a new world."
"The new realm is the one filled with magic, swords, monsters, races both beautiful and terrifying. And yes, guilds and kingdoms and dungeons and much more. It is just like the game you were playing before that untimely mistake."
A slow grin tugged at Leo's lips, "That's... okay, that's kind of awesome."
He opened his mouth to ask more, but her finger touched his lips. It was warm and electrifying, "Don't overthink it. Just enjoy the ride. This world… it will test you, change you. Just one thing. The new world you are going to be unforgiving for the unprepared."
"So you can lead a mundane life in the new world if you want."
"Or you can conquer it."
"Whatever you do, it is all your choice."
"Of course," she added, wagging a finger, "It's not going to be a cakewalk. But you won't be alone or helpless. For the trouble we caused, you will be granted something... special."
Leo's curiosity peaked, "Like a cheat skill?"
But the Goddess spoke no further. She pulled him close and planted her lips on his forehead as a surge of energy coursed through his veins.
Then she drew back, her eyes glowing with ethereal fire. And the bright light around the Goddess began to engulf both of them.
"Wait!" Leo shouted, "Can I ask one more—?"
But the light swallowed him whole.
"Go Leo… Make that world your own. I will be watching with great interest."
