Chapter 38 - chapter 38

The inside of the section was just as spacious. There were three large bookshelves positioned side by side, with space between them. They were filled with books. Several tables were located about five meters from the shelves.

Tony was surprised to see no one there.

It was by far the most interesting section to him.

Tony walked over to one of the shelves and searched for a book that could inform him about other galaxies.

In the end, he found only one, but the title made Tony tense up. The book he held was called Divine Galaxy.

That name reminded him of CANICIA. Tony took the book and sat down.

As he began to read, Tony learned that gods ruled over the Divine Galaxy, but they were never on the planets, although they sometimes made appearances.

It was also mentioned that each believer who prayed to their god was protected by that god.

There was also a special page for the honorary names of these gods, but the page had been torn out.

Tony skimmed through the rest of the book, which explained the living conditions in the Divine Galaxy, reasons to go there, and why one should pray to one of the many gods.

But to Tony, it felt more like propaganda than anything else. Reaching the last page,

Tony noticed that the writing on this page was different from the rest.

"To anyone reading this: I advise you not to go to the Divine Galaxy. I can't tell you why, but heed my warning. I tore out the page with their honorary names, but if by chance you come across it, never say them out loud. Trust me, if you do, you'll regret it."

Absorbed in the message, Tony didn't notice the girl who had leaned her head next to his shoulder.

— "Oh, I've never seen that book before," the girl suddenly said.

Startled, Tony quickly turned his head toward her… He fell silent for a few seconds after seeing her face. She was a beautiful young woman with purple hair, green eyes, a pale face, and tall in stature.

— "Are you done staring at me like that?" she said.

Tony stopped staring and asked her what she wanted.

— "The book you're holding — I've never seen it here before, so I want to read it," she said.

Tony was about to give it to her but then remembered that the person who wrote the warning might not have torn out all the pages with honorary names.

— "What are you waiting for? Give it to me. There are tons of other books if you want," she said.

Having met CANICIA, Tony knew this could turn into a nightmare. And he also knew that CANICIA hadn't used any force, yet still managed to slice his soul in two.

— "Sorry, but that's not going to happen," Tony said, trying to avoid any drama.

— "…You know, I can just wait until you leave. You'll have to leave the book here," she said.

Tony stood up and walked over to the shelf where he had found the book. He grabbed a second book and placed it where the first had been. Tony knew they would notice the missing book, but he needed to check something, so he put the book into a bag. He headed toward the section exit.

That's when the girl with purple hair grabbed his shoulder and said:

— "Who do you think you're fooling? Give me that book right now!"

— "Can't you wait… I don't know, just one day? After that, you can read it as much as you want," Tony said, clearly in a hurry to leave.

— "You know what? I'm just going to take that book and see what you're so desperate to hide, okay?" she said, lunging at Tony.

Tony grabbed his head, sighed, and said:

— "Why do I always end up with lunatics…," he muttered, dodging the purple-haired girl's attack.
