Portal opens... Tutorial World 1 Murim.
You have three lives. Every time you die, you will get reincarnated 100 years into the future from the current time. The potion was given to you to unlock your potential; it will give you a boost in the 1st life only. And after the 1st life, you will be born in this world as part of their bloodline, so you won't need any type of potential boost.
You have three options to start:
1. Become a subordinate of the royal family
2. Become an outer disciple of the orthodox Murim faction
3. Become a disciple of the Heavenly Demon Sect
Jaehwan thought for a moment, his mind racing with possibilities. All three options seemed appealing, but he knew from reading many novels that the first option would make it easy to gather information if he didn't get involved in any power struggles. If he chose the third option, he wouldn't survive, as demonic cults weren't places where he could move freely. If he chose the second option, he could gather information and roam freely without any restrictions.
"Okay, I'll go with the second option," Jaehwan said finally, a sense of determination washing over him.
System: Confirming 2nd option. Your new name is Jin Myung.
"Your main objective is to reach ascension in one of the three lives, so you can move to Tutorial Ground 2," the system explained. "If you reach ascension in any of the three lives, you'll move to the 2nd Tutorial Ground. If you fail in all three lives, you'll die."
Jin Myung's eyes widened in alarm. "So, what's the power system like?" he asked, his voice laced with curiosity.
"The system will only help you memorize dates, times, and high-level sutras," the system replied. "You have to rely on yourself to gather information and learn the basics. You'll be shown demo videos to learn."
Jin Myung nodded, his mind racing with questions. "I have one year to start preparing for the Mount Hua Sect outer disciple examination," he repeated, a sense of urgency building within him.
"Aside from the main quest, you'll have a side quest running in all three lives," the system continued. "Your first side quest is to become a core disciple of the Murim faction. How you can do that is up to you."
The system provided a detailed overview of the path ahead, and Jin Myung listened intently, his determination growing with each passing moment. "First, you'll become an orthodox sect outer disciple, then an inner disciple of that sect, then a core disciple, and finally, you'll be recommended to the Murim faction's inner disciple," the system explained. "After clearing all tests, you can become a core disciple of the Murim faction."
Jin Myung's eyes narrowed, his focus sharpening. "I won't lose motivation," he said, his voice firm.
The system added, "Another thing is, your age is currently 9 years old. You'll take the outer disciple test of Mount Hua Sect in exactly one year."
Jin Myung let out a deep sigh, feeling a mix of emotions: determination, anxiety, and anticipation. "Good luck, Jin Myung," the system said, its voice neutral.
Jin Myung smiled worryly , knowing he would need all the luck he could get.
Jin Myung looked around and spotted a 1000 sq. ft. wooden house that seemed a bit old but had character. In front of the house, a small garden caught his eye, filled with a variety of herbs and vegetables. He sighed, taking it all in, and said,
"Well, it doesn't look bad for a start. Let's familiarize myself with the surroundings and begin preparing for the test."
As he spoke, the system activated, and a video tutorial on the basics of martial arts began to play. Jin Myung watched intently, eager to learn and improve his skills. The video covered fundamental stances, movements, and techniques, providing a solid foundation for his future training.
With the video as his guide, Jin Myung started practicing, his movements awkward at first but gradually becoming more fluid as he repeated the exercises. He was determined to make the most of his time and prepare himself for the challenges ahead, particularly the Mount Hua Sect outer disciple examination.
