Wang Dong felt helpless. She desperately wanted someone close to her—someone she could confide in.
But who could she turn to? The exchange students at the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineering Academy weren't close enough.
"First Uncle… Second Uncle…"
The thought of those two elders from the Clear Sky Sect—who weren't her relatives by blood but had always treated her like family—brought a fresh sting to her eyes. She'd completely forgotten about them. Maybe it was true—when someone was struggling out in the world, they often avoided turning to the people they were closest to at home.
But with her current state, Wang Dong felt she couldn't bear it alone anymore.
"I'll find a chance to request leave in a few days… go home and see them."
Thinking of her two dependable elders, she felt a bit more at ease. She stood up, deciding to return to the dorms and give her emotionally exhausted body some rest.

God Realm, Sea God Temple.
At this moment, Tang San—our so-called Buddha of the Tang Clan—was positively elated. After all his efforts, his daughter was finally showing the emotions he'd hoped for.
"Hmph, looks like you're getting the better end of the deal, Chosen One. Soon, you'll have both my daughter as your wife and a divine position to inherit. What more could you possibly want?"
Tang San gave a cold snort. Just thinking about handing his daughter over to someone else left a bitter taste in his mouth.
But the Chosen One didn't seem very cooperative. His thread of fate remained entangled with that troublesome girl's—while his connection to Tang San's daughter was barely responsive.
That made Tang San believe that this meddling girl had already earned her death sentence. Good thing his daughter was still passing as a boy.
"With Little Seven's appearance, capturing the Chosen One's heart should be easy. Hmph. But she'd better not push her luck."
Tang San snorted again. Having ordered his daughter to dress as a boy himself, he had done so to protect her from the dangers of the lower realms. But maybe it was time to let her return to her true identity. Given the rising threat of the God of Destruction in the God Realm, some adjustments had to be made.
"I'll give my lovely daughter another mental nudge… and make a backup plan while I'm at it."
The fox-like girl hanging around the Chosen One was a definite obstacle. Tang San couldn't act directly against her, nor could he send his daughter.
But then he remembered his two pawns—no, brothers—still in the lower world.
"Da Ming, Er Ming."
Tang San muttered thoughtfully. Communicating with them posed no real risk, and given their power, this task shouldn't be difficult.
"Very well. Time to begin."
With a cold smile, he walked toward the place where he could contact the Clear Sky Sect.
—
Above the clouds, within the Clear Sky Sect.
In the grand hall of the sect's mansion, the Azure Bull Python and the Titan Giant Ape—now in the forms of a handsome youth and a burly giant—sat as usual, drinking together.
Suddenly, the Azure Bull Python furrowed his brow. The Sea God statue at the back of the hall began to glow faintly.
"It's Third Brother."
"Yes. It's him."
The two of them rose at once and stood respectfully before the statue.
What did they really feel about Tang San? Being left in the mortal world, called upon only when needed, was frustrating. But he had resurrected them, given them a second life and great strength, and he was the husband of the one they cherished most—Rou'er, the Soft Bone Rabbit Xiao Wu.
So, no matter how they felt, their loyalty to Tang San was unquestionable.
In short, they were Tang San's most obedient dogs.
"Da Ming, Er Ming. Long time no see."
Tang San's voice echoed from the statue.
"Greetings, Third Brother."
"No need for formalities," Tang San said with a chuckle. "Let's not waste time. I have an important task for you."
"Please speak, Third Brother," Azure Bull Python replied firmly.
"I need you two to take someone out. Quietly."
Both of them were startled. What kind of person in the mortal world warranted the attention of the Sea God himself?
It felt extreme—dishonorable, even. A god sending orders to kill a mortal?
Still, neither of them dared question it aloud. They were bound to follow Tang San's command. Maybe the target really did deserve to die.
"And the person is…?"
"There's no need for details. Just know it's a matter of great importance. I'll transmit their location directly to your minds. When you find them, you'll know. Don't hesitate—just do it."
Tang San's tone grew sharp.
"The situation in the God Realm isn't favorable for me—or for us. I can't say more. Da Ming, Er Ming… until we meet again."
Without giving them a chance to respond, the connection severed. The light from the Sea God statue faded.
"…"
The two men exchanged glances in silence. The hot-headed Titan Giant Ape couldn't help but mutter,
"Third Brother's really…"
Before he could finish, the Azure Bull Python cut him off sternly.
"Watch your words, Second Brother."
The Titan Giant Ape shut his mouth, begrudgingly. Tang San, after all, was a divine enforcer now. They were merely divine officials. They couldn't afford to badmouth him.
The two sat back down at the table, not saying anything more, but both were deep in thought.
After some time, once their emotions had settled, they began discussing the order Tang San had given them.
"So… that person is in the Sun Moon Empire? In Mingdu?"
They had already sensed the location Tang San mentioned.
They frowned. Was there really someone in the Sun Moon Empire worthy of the Sea God's wrath?
"Isn't Little Dong there right now as a Shrek exchange student? Could this have something to do with her, Big Brother?"
The Azure Bull Python's eyes sharpened. Xiao Wu's daughter—whom they had watched grow up—was dear to both of them. If this truly involved her, they couldn't turn a blind eye.
"But if it were related to her, would Third Brother really keep that from us?"
"Surely not… unless there's something he can't say out loud."
The room fell into silence again. They simply couldn't understand what Tang San was thinking.
"Still, it's not a bad idea to go have a look. We can see Little Dong too, make sure she's doing well."
Hearing that, the Azure Bull Python finally cracked a smile.
"You're right, Second Brother. It's been so long. We both miss her."
