Chapter 2 - chapter 2: Different world

Ouch

An immense pain is the first thing he felt. It came suddenly and violently. It felt like there are ants under his skin eating away. His vision blurred but he could feel the heat of a fire close by. There is also a lot of shouting and distant screams that he can't make out.

Confused and dazed, he sat up and tried to remember what had happened. His name is William. He and his historian dad were on a plane going to Europe to help research a project one of his dad's friends was working on. There was a loud boom and then nothing.

The last thing he could definitely remember is praying to a god but he was unable to remember which one.

William, still dazed, rubbed his eyes and looked around him. He immediately widened his eyes and exclaimed " What the- Wait what's happening?"

He sat in a village but the wooden buildings are currently on fire. There are a few body's strung around and people running in the opposite direction of him. This scene shocked him but before he could process it, he heard a shout from behind him.

Whipping his head around he saw multiple people in uniforms he didn't recognize. However it is what's in front of them that makes William scared. There is a massive monster, it looked vaguely humanoid standing on two back legs, it leaned forward and stretched out one of its massive front claws towards one of the men.

The monster looked to be made out of complete darkness; the only opening on it is the blood red eyes that are scattered across its body. The body is almost illusory as if you could just pass though the monster. It however does not seem to be true because the claw ripped the man in half and the monster pounced on the body.

William watched as the monster began to tear into the man. This sent William into shock it's his first time seeing anything like this and it made him panic. He got up off the ground and began to run away from the monster.

Now that he wasn't on the ground William could see that there are a lot of people running around and some people in those unfamiliar uniforms fighting the monsters made of darkness. William followed the crowd as they ran to the shore just to the side of the small village.

He could see that there are ships letting people bored. Just as William reached the edge of the village one of the monsters broke through a wall next to him and the crowd. It began to attack everyone. However something strange happened even though the monster is killing people the crowd is still running towards it.

It's as if they are unable to see the horrifying sight.

William stopped in his tracks but before he could turn around he got knocked to the floor by the panicking crowd. He quickly crowed to get out of their way and managed to get into a small house as his thoughts began to race. What is happening?? Where am i?? Why am i Here??

The more he thought the more confused he became, William was overwhelmed by the situation. One minute he was sitting with his dad on a plane to Europe and in the next he woke up in a village being attacked by monsters. This scared the young boy but he quickly looked at his body for injuries.

He turned his attention to his body clothed in tattered rags. Despite the fact that he is covered in blood he did not see any injuries on him. However he could see that his skin had faint scaring as if it had been ripped open at one point.

This only made him more confused, I feel fine so wh-

Snap

Williams thoughts instantly halted as he turned his head to the door which was not wide open. Quickly getting under a nearby table he looks around in a panic only to find nothing in the room with him. This however only sent a chill down his spine and made him panic further.

William scanned the room for a way to leave or at least for some sort of weapon to use. The room wasn't very big, He is currently hiding under what seemed to be the dining table. Just a few steps from him is the kitchen where he could see a knife on the counter.

Before William could make any movement he was interrupted. Thud

For a moment William's brain stopped working as he saw what exactly had fallen in front of him. There stood a monster that seemed to be made of darkness covered in countless cold eyes that all fixated on him.

William's blood ran cold as the eyes exuded madness that brought a pounding headache to him. The eyes glowed a faint yet ominous crimson that left his mind in a mess of jumbled yet ever increasing thoughts.

In a single moment countless fragments of knowledge began to invade his mind causing him to let out a sharp scream in agony. It felt like his mind collapsed in on itself, unable to bear the knowledge that was tearing into it. A feeling of pain and dred washed over him as if someone decided to strike his head with a hammer.

However in the next second someone suddenly came crashing down from the roof. The man who crashed through the roof had a spear made of fire clutched in his hand. Using his following momentum he struck the monster through the chest and crashed to the ground under the force of the man.

The fire spread from the spear and onto the monster causing it to let out an inhuman roar. Seeing this the man jumped off the monster and stretched out his hand. The flames that engulfed the monster suddenly shrugged and burned brighter. Quickly the monster's eyes began to burn as the goo that made it melted onto the ground.

William quickly let out a breath of relief as the information stopped flowing into his mind, He however was more focused on the man that now stood in front of him burning what remained of the monster. The man has short red hair and a well defined body, he is also wearing one of those uniforms he saw earlier.

William attempted to speak, but when he opened his mouth blood spilled out of it. He looked down at himself and realized that his nose, mouth and eyes were all bleeding. In a desperate attempt to stop the bleeding he closed his mouth, only for more blood to come out of his nose.

He turned his gaze back to the man who was now approaching him. However his vision was suddenly engulfed by darkness.
