Chapter 3 - Chapter 2.2: Learning Some Magic

The next day it was another day. It was a bright and sunny day with the sun out and the sky clear.

"Pft..." Okay that was funny, not gonna lie.

"What are you laughing at Miss?"

"Nothing." I said to Ron as we headed to work. "How is the house going?"

"Absolutely perfect miss. I found the right house and we can move in this week." Ron said.

"Hm, hm, sounds great." With the permanent living quarters i would be able to finally sleep in peace. It's necessary for a person to sleep well, after all.

For now the inn, all thought, has a good bed it just doesn't feel right.

I wonder what is it that makes people uncomfortable in new places.

"Hm, it might be a primal instinct evolved

during the cave-mans."

"Did, you say something?"

"Uh no nothing..."

.

.

After saying goodbye to Ron i was given work again. This time in the kitchen.

And so i was cutting the veggies.

"Wow, you really are an armature aren't you?" The maid beside me said. And, well she is right, i haven't been cooking for years, it's natural to be sloppy.

"Haha, it is hard to hold such a heavy knife." I replied to the maid.

"Do you need some help?"

"No, thank you. I can do it." I said.

Honestly it was easier than navigating around the palace. Even though the knife is pretty heavy i can just use my Gods Aura.

"Aw, such a cute child." The maid commented.

'Urgh not again.'

"I know right, she is such a good child." And then they started taking about me in front of me.

They went on and on until, "Um, hello?" A familiar voice was heard in the kitchen.

Looking towards the door i noticed, the familiar girl. She wore a better dress today. However, her timidness is still here.

"Good Morning Princess Azure." One of the maids gave a bow and us followed suit.

"What brings you here? Your highness?"

"Um...uu...." She stuttered for quite a bit. before finally expressing what was on her mind. "Can i borrow her?" She pointed at me.

"Oh, is the princess looking for a playmate?"

The maid asked.

"Playmate? Uh, no, no, i was just wanting to show her my books and ... then maybe play a little bit."

"So a playmate, then?"

"Uh... yes something like that..." Her voice chimed down as she said that.

The maid looked down at me and said, "Would you like to play with her little Luna?"

"Can i?" I was a little taken aback. After all i am on my job.

"Well taking care of the princess is still a maids job." The maid clarified maybe noticing my gaze.

"Uh, then don't mind if i do." I said placing the knife on the table.

"Don't do anything dangerous ok?" The maid said as i departed with the quite girl.

.

.

I walked behind the girl.

Princess Azure.

Six to seven years older that me.

Personality wise she is very shy reserved and introverted.

Her eyes are blue, and hair is black. Which are very likely due to the fault of her pure royal blood.

I personally like her. She is quite and has proper mannerism.

"Hello, Miss, Let me introduce myself again. I am Luna." I saw her visibly flinch as if not expecting me to talk.

But she quickly composed herself.

"Hm, Luna." Another moment of awkward silence passed. It seems Lady Azure is not very good at keeping up the conversation.

"So my lady, what kind stories are you reading recently?" I asked, in an attempt to lighten up the mood.

"Oh, oh, i am reading this book about a past king. His deeds earned him the tittle of the great warrior." Suddenly, as she found a subject to talk about she started talking.

'Hehe, so cute.' As we walked i got to know various things. Such as about a very historical thing. The heroic deeds of the past rulers of Aurelia.

"Do you know, it is said that our past rulers once bravely fought with a dragon." Azure said. A certain excitement was in her voice.

"Is that so? Have you ever seen it?" I asked curiously. Dragons sounds really powerful.

"Uh, it was 2 centuries ago. So i haven't seen it unfortunately." Lady Azure scratched her head.

I couldn't help but chuckle. "Then shouldn't you verify this information?" I asked. Believing anything without verification is like self hypnotizing yourself. Very dangerous in fact.

Lady Azure paused.

"Of course, it is written in the book of a famous author." She said.

"That isn't prove, my lady." I answered to her calmly.

She looked at me as if trying to process it.

"Then how am i suppose to prove it?" She asked me as if trying to grasp something.

"You don't have to. Just don't believe something that doesn't have definite prove." I answered.

"Is that so..." After that, the girl muttered something i couldn't quite discern.

"I will keep that in mind." She said as she suddenly patted my head.

"..."

The library wasn't as grand as i thought. One of the things i noticed in this world is that people don't read and write as much.

Which is understandable. This is a very primitive world without much science. People here don't value knowledge as much as my old world.

Lady Azure moved to a where a bunch of books were already stacked.

"Here the book i was reading previously." She showed me a book "Glory to Aurelia".

She then flips through the books pages as she shows me various things she found interesting in them.

I on the other hand found it quite interesting. As i observed lady Azure interests.

And i found some interesting things. Mainly the fact that lady Azure doesn't necessarily is interested in the history of the kingdom. Instead her focus is more towards the heroic tales.

This is rather interesting...

And the final nail to my answer was the last sentence.

"Hehe, I want to defeat a dragon one day too."

"I am sure my lady can do that." I encouraged her as i finally understood what this girl was so passionate about.

"Hah," she sighed. "I wish i had a better magic affinity." She seemed sad saying that.

"Is lady Azure not good with magic?" I asked.

She looked ashamed not knowing what to say.

"Unfortunately i don't have that good of an affinity. It is just average."

'Really?'

Even though she has pure noble blood, she isn't good with magic, it seems.

"They never, even gave me a teacher, because of this..." She said in a dim voice, as if saying this to herself.

"Uh, i see." I seems she really wanted to learn magic. But because she has a low affinity and the fact that she has a problematic situation probably made her unable to get a teacher.

"In that case..." I looked at her as i got an idea. "Why not learn magic by yourself."

"Learn it by myself?" She looked puzzled as if pondering my idea. "But wouldn't learning without a teacher be difficult? I heard magic is a difficult thing to learn."

"In that case let me be your teacher." I announced.

"Pft... haha." Lady Azure for the first time smiled. And to be honest i knew why she is laughing.

After all commoners don't have access to that many books. So me having proper knowledge of magic is pretty much impossible.

"Hehe, little Luna will teach me magic?" She giggled like a child.

"Why not?" I said. In a joking tone of course. It's hard to explain to her how i got knowledge on magic. But if i just treat it like a play it should be easier to get her started in the path of magic.

.

.

.

"You can start now my lady." I said as i stepped back. In front of me lady Azure stood on open grass as she focused.

I asked to see her magic.

So she decided to show me.

*Woosh!*

*Woosh!*

A small magic circle formed and air swirled around her as doplets of water formed. The droplets of water swirled and gather creating a even bigger lump of water.

"How is it?" She asked as if showing off.

*Clap!*

*Clap!*

*Clap!*

"It was amazing my lady." I said. And to be honest i am genuinely surprised.

Her control over the spell is quite good. I would say she is weak in terms of magic affinity but is pretty good at controlling it.

However, the problem is i haven't seen mages casts spells many times before. So i can't say she is entirely good at magic or not.

'Hm, needs some research in this field.'

At the end, i gave her only some tips on how she can improve. Of course i just told her that i think if she did it in certain way's she would be better at it. I didn't tell her with absolute certainty.

"Wow, this was really a good idea." Hearing her comment i felt relief. After all even though i am saying they're playful experiments, in actuality i am teaching her stuff.

.

.

At the end of the day when i am leaving the castle, "You will return tomorrow right?"

Her words sounded like a puppy whose owner is leaving the house.

"Of course i will." I gave her a pat on the head and turned around to leave.

While i was holding Rons hand walking away i could still feel her lingering gaze on me way past the gates.

Honestly i didn't think that we would make friends in just one day. That just goes to show how lonely the girl is.

Maybe i could help her improve her social skills.

Hm that would definitely help her mental state a lot. I also need to find some mages, preferably water elemental ones and understand their average strengths.

After all, even though i am quit strong, i am not really aware how strong i am compered to the average mage.
